I'd really rather experience the album for the first time alone, but... you know what? They're hosting a listening party in frigging Olympia. It's right down the street. I'm going. See ya at Rainy Day Records.

So, this entire forum already pre-ordered the vinyl. Do we know if we get a fan pack if we buy a CD at one of these listening parties? Also, I will 100% be at the Pittsburgh listening party.

Not one on the whole island of Ireland, disappointing.

Olympia. 44 miles south through some of the worst traffic in the state. Man, I don't know. Maybe I will see you there.turquoise70 wrote:I'd really rather experience the album for the first time alone, but... you know what? They're hosting a listening party in frigging Olympia. EDIT: Starts at five and they've had a HUGE interest.

Guhhhh very tempting. There are two stores an hour away from me but logistically I will probably not be able to make it. That swag bag looks amazing tho, and I will be envious of anyone who manages to score one!
The preparation for a dive is always a tense time.

Same thought here. The goodies do appeal to me, but I’d rather listen to it for the first time in the comfort of my own home rather than standing in a record shop listening to an unfamiliar audiosystem.johnstamos wrote:I'm tempted to go to get the goods but I really don't want my first listen of the album to be in a little record store in the middle of the afternoon lol.
How does it even work? are there like chairs set up or something

I guess it's relative... Lately I've been making regular trips from Bainbridge Island to Olympia because I'm estranged from my wife... So 2 hours through the I-5 corridor doesn't sound so bad to me if the reward is a one of a kind Boards of Canada listening experience.zeoevil wrote:Olympia. 44 miles south through some of the worst traffic in the state. Also I could really stand to meet some local friends, I'm so effing lonely here you have no idea.
Plus, swag bag.
I'm in.

Going to one in Philly, shout out Great Circles for hosting it in a place with a good sound system. Will follow up when I get home with multiple headphone listens

Nearest session is Paris and it’s a 2h drive for me… That whole merch stuff is a bit frustrating, I wished I could get my hands on a keyring and a poster. It would have been great to be able to order them from Bleep.

Definitely nabbing a goodie bag + CD, but hopefully dip before the actual album listening starts - i'd rather have my first listen be out by a campfire or something in the woods

If I can get off work early I might make the drive, got some pals in Pittsburg.
Otherwise I’ll be at Used Kids in Columbus, Ohio. Any other comrades from “the heart of it all”?? Haha

My local shop has one (Fingerprints - Long Beach) so hopefully is RSVPed in time. Still a bit bummed on missing the 5/22 show, but this will suffice.
In fact preordered the red vinyl from them probably within 30 seconds of it popping up. Hopefully that gets me perks.
