He did review prophecy quite well in his tracks of the week roundup. Well. I say "well", I mean "well" in that he was positive about it. Some really weird comments and omissions in there. You'd think that guitar would warrant a mention.

The reviewer seemed to go into it with the opinion that their referencing of religion could only be as a form of cynical mockery. I mean, that has never been BoC's style or stance before, so why should it be now?

The music journalism has been the weak point of the Guardian for years. They nailed their colours to planet "pop" a while back and struggle to write away from that.

The use of sampled speeches from various religious sources also calls to mind David Byrne and Brian Eno’s landmark 1981 LP, My Life In The Bush of Ghosts, but whereas that LP often felt like a satire of religious faith, Inferno, with its focus on American voices and the chasm between what’s said and what’s meant, suggests something far more urgent and critical.

Honestly, this is exactly what I suspected. Its going to be a 50/50, critically "medicore" album to everyone else... I mean... I think its meant for us thats why, not them. My thoughts on the matter. I honestly don't know what everyone was expecting. I've even seen some posts here pointing out this albums seems to mostly be Mike's work, with just Marcus performing on it. Exactly how a band would! I'm surprised nobody is seeing this connection, they've wanted to do this kind of stuff since Day 1. Just had to let the IDM "type cast" wear off. I know this is going to be my favourite already, I can't wait until the 29th!

Also, if they've been "preforming" on this album. Well... what stops them performing this live? I can see whats happening here, and I hope I am right.

The Mojo review is my favorite so far too, great header.

I feel like there were more critical reactions to Tomorrow’s Harvest from the listenership than music journalists. And a lot of people seemed to resist The Campfire Headphase initially. It will be interesting to see if the reaction to Inferno is as divisive.
