I'm planning to go! I've never been up to Golden Valley, but a friend of mine is in St. Louis Park so I know the region.
I've never been to that store before today. I stopped by and asked about the listening party; the very nice worker there said that there will be a sign-up clipboard around 6:45 PM and they start playing the album at 7. First come, first served for the Warp goodie bags. Everyone who is signed up also gets entered into some drawing for a "grand prize" merch giveaway (!!?!?) that I couldn't get any more details about. He said there has been a fair amount of interest in the event, so I'll plan on arriving a bit early.

I've not gone to something like this. Plenty of concerts, but not a first-come first-served record store situation. With one record store in all of MN doing this, I don't know whether to expect a bit of a wait at 6:45pm before signing up and getting swag, or a 2 hour line out the door only to miss out, lol.
Grabbing food first would be fun to do, but I'm not quite yet sure if I'll be able to because I've got some out-of-town friends visiting around then and need to coordinate with them first. Very coincidentally, they're also BOC fans, so it's possible they may join!

I need yall’s opinion on something. I called a record store today asking for details about the listening party…. TLDR they basically said that in order to get a goodie bag, you’d have to buy the LP from them in order to put your name in a drawing. I feel a little frustrated just because I’ve already pre-ordered the vinyl, now this place basically wants me to buy it again for the chance of the goodie bag.
I decided to just go to one that’s “first-come-first-serve” with the goodie bags instead, but have any of you guys heard of anything like this? Am I tripping or does this sound normal? I understand that they’re limited quantity irregardless but I dunno. Hard not to feel like something’s up.

I can't say for sure, but I doubt that policy is coming from the label's end. That's probably just how they're choosing to run it and they might be doing it that way out of an attempt to be more fair by slowing down the ease at which people can get the goodies (not saying that's necessarily good reasoning, it just might be part of where they're coming from along with, obviously, driving sales for themselves).
FYI in case helpful for anyone, I just noticed that Banquet Records in Kingston (UK) are selling tickets for a listening event. Seems a bit odd as they're not included on the official list of record stores taking part, but their tickets page does say they have "special goodiebags" to give away. They're also charging £4 for entry only tickets (whereas all the other UK stores I've looked up are free entry. *shrug*)
I've seen some stores saying no purchase necessary for the session packs, and others saying they're giving them to album buyers specifically, so seems like the stores are deciding how they're handing them out. I do fancy dem trinkets but I also pre-ordered the album elsewhere already so will see what happens.
There is one a few blocks away from me but I don't want to go in there and have it half started in a weird scene sticking to my plan sorry Nate. Poster would be cool to have though who knows
I have a ticket to one near me. My plan is to go along to it, grab a goodie bag if any are available, soak up the atmosphere a bit and maybe chat to some fans and then go before the music starts.
Sounds pretty mercenary just to go for the merch I know but I have a really good spot picked out for my first listen and I want to hear it there first
Plus I've already ordered it from Bleep! I'd happily go buy it from a local record store but sadly that was not a thought that popped into my head in the microseconds between bleep announcing preorders and the synapse firing to click on "order".
Going to one near me. Didn't even need tickets. That said I do hope they get merch (last I checked they more or less said "we don't know anything about merch")
Feel lucky to have three store-sessions in my city. Was feeling confident there'd be one. I'm planning on the one in walking distance - how cool! They advertised gift bags being first-come, first-served for all those purchasing LP in person. I asked a follow-up and this store (small) said they pre-ordered 16 records to sell but had no idea how many goodie kits they'll be sent, so the purchase rule felt fair to them as a starting point. I bought the CD off bandcamp. I am going to the store quite early and will buy LP if required for the memorabilia. I like the poster, even if it's folded into eighths.

I emailed the store near me. They let me know it's just a show up thing - no tickets involved - but that they got word there weren't going to be many of the giveaway bags so they were probably going to have people enter a name drawing for them. Dang.

Closest ones to me were Byrdland Records and Mobius Records (DMV resident). Did contact the latter about the listening parties and was told it was gonna be RSVP (small location). Also mentioned that they received a light supply of merch so individual items are gonna be given based on RSVP order, i guess. Signed up the minute they announced on their Instagram.
I'll be at the one near me. Absolutely can't wait. I'm hearing that it's going to be packed - and the listening party packages Warp is providing are very limited, so they're doing a raffle.
closest to me is the Bristol one but....11pm start? I get that it allows you to buy the album straight after but leaving a record store at half midnight is going to be impossible for me to get home!
The latest instagram story features a list of locations for the listening sessions tomorrow which is noticeably different from the original list that was emailed to us before. I can’t find the post it’s linked to so it requires some pausing and squinting. For example, the new list includes Tower Records in Dublin, after some people were disappointed that there were no participating stores in Ireland.
