The Road is my favourite book. Grim, but utterly compelling.

Have you read The Border Trilogy? Specifically The Crossing? That one is my favorite McCarthy, closely followed by Suttree. Devastating, but in such a beautiful way.

I haven't. I'm a big fan of speculative/dystopian/sci-fi stuff, so that's what attracted me to The Road in the first place and I didn't really use it as a cue to jump into his other stuff. I have Suttree, but didn't really get into it the first time round. Definitely planning to revisit his work, though, thanks for the recommend.
