Acts Of Magic > Memory Death > The Word sequence

I’ve become really obsessed with this sequence that closes (fills) most of Side 2 of the vinyl/Side 1 of the cassette. I think I’ve played it more than 20 times in the last few days. The three songs seem really designed to be linked together, the first two more like interludes, it’s kind of strange putting two short interlude tracks back to back. And there are sounds and rhythm that seem to link the tracks together. As I posted elsewhere, after the sequence finishes we flip over the record/tape and go “Into The Magic Land..” This section seems to have some kind of narrative flow more than any other part of the album. The whole things is so mysterious. Why am I even looking for a narrative here? What does it all mean???

oh i agree. they're clearly linked. not to mention the heart monitor sound playing through the first two. i don't totally know what it's full place is, but i sure as shit know it makes me think of death! and a very clinically described birth

Add Naraka - “Arkana” to the mix somewhere because why not have more song titles referencing secrets, mysteries and esoterica!

It is on the same record side, and the title references hell/purgatory. But the religious sample makes it feel like it should have been on Side One. Doesn’t it feel like Introit > Prophecy > Capricorn > F&S > Naranka (& You retreat / I saw Through) were supposed to be a 6 or 7 track EP? Like IABPITC?

Apologies I was a bit vague, just pointing out Naraka is an anagram of arkana hence talking about mysteries, secrets etc,.. and the next track being Acts of Magic… although I don’t think there’s anything deeper to be uncovered from the sequence titles other than good flow.

Acts of Magic is so good. I love the vibe of that track and the distorted synths and flies. Wish it was longer.
