Surprised not to see the owl quote from this Boards of Canada interview come up in this thread:

"When I was a kid, about five or six years old," Mike Sandison is saying, " a relative of mine had one of those tacky ceramic owls on their mantelpiece, and it had multifaceted diamante eyes.
