OMG I HAVE DONE THE UNTHINKABLE
Thats right! I have ACTUALLY BOUGHT AN ALBUM. Ulrich Schnauss - Far Away Trains Passing By (2xCD). I couldnt find the 2nd CD on Soulseek so I thought I should just buy it. I appeciate his music enough to buy a CD. I would buy a Boards of Canada CD except half of the song is ambient (which I dont really like)...
hello.

I like buying Vinyl Records and CD's. Nothing like going in to the record shop and getting that smell of vinyl and old card stock when you walk in. CD's are okay too, but mp3's do no justice. Sitting with your smelly thumb up your ass waiting for it to download eating chips and picking your nose. No thanks.
You should really buy more vinyl records and cd's.

Well it's alright if you don't do any of those things. Besides, that would mean that I have to eat with the remaining fingers of a hand that's either up my nose or my arse... what a choicepolar sky wrote:Sitting with your smelly thumb up your ass waiting for it to download eating chips and picking your nose. Downloading music
I don't see whats so wrong with buying music? I havn't downloaded illegal music in over 3 years now... And i have no desire to... By no means do I have alot of money, I just find you get no sense of the artists work when you only taste one or two songs..? Its like looking at a painting and only seeing certain colours... Not only that, but mp3's sound like S*** compared to vinyl or cd's (there's nothing like a wall of trebble and digital static to really turn me onto a musician)!! Especially when the artists' music is so delicate and pure like Aphex or BoC, mp3 formats completely destroy their sound. I'm not trying to hack into you for downloading music, but to be honest these people deserve the money we spend for their discs, without good music I wouldn't even want to be alive. Christ, if BoC had a donation page, I'd be all over it!

I've been buying a lot more music lately. I'll admit I was on a little slsk binge for a while but now I only use it for super rare stuff or vinyl only releases. (still don't have a record player)
I now have a nice stable of artists that I'll buy anything they put out, and my collection is growing rapidly. I totally agree that music means so much more when you have good quality, artwork, and knowing your money went to support an artist that has impacted your life. Downloading music just seems to hectic for me lately, I'm just now getting around to hearing stuff I downloaded months or even years ago. I don't make a shitload of $ so I'm happy with buying a few albums a month and it gives me more time for the music to sink in rather than say downloading 5 albums a day.

Re: Downloading music
I download 192kbps or higher music. If I want to check out a musician someone's recommended to me, I'll almost definitely download and listen to a full album, never just one song. I listen to a ton of music, and my ears really can't tell any difference between 192kbps and the original cd. When I like something enough, I buy it. vbunt. wrote:I don't see whats so wrong with buying music? I havn't downloaded illegal music in over 3 years now... And i have no desire to...
