BoC & Magic Mushrooms

Post by Pilzolli »

First of all a big HI to all of you out there.
I've been following lots threads of twoism for about 2years now when I first discovered Michael & Marcus. It was pure fate, so I stopped crying for not knowing them before. Although I am quite sure it would have changed my life (earlier) the same way my first Psilocybin experience did back in 1996.

I often thought about joining in with all of you, talking about my deep deep love to 'their' music! -well actually I think the magic they're creating is far to indescribable only through words- especially such a general one.
Or I wanted to thank Fredd for his great work on THE BoC site; well here I go- THANK YOU!!!!
And tell all of you how warm it feels to read about the same, about our feelings when being connected to them. They discribed it a few times in interviews that they want the listener to become a 'part' of them via their 'music'. (To let the listener feel what they felt when creating their sounds.)

So, finally this thread did it. When I read about it, I knew the next days I have to register...

I am deeply in to the world of Shamanism & entheogenic plants. It all started when I first discovered the magic of life with a breakthrough dosage of Psilocybe Semilanceata. (nearly 10 years ago now.)

When I first heard Boards of Canada I immediately became this warm, spiritual & psychic enhanced feeling which the magic plants offer me. (and other -natural- experiences like climbing a mountain, the birth of my children, too.)
This first song was my alltime favourite 'Everything you do is a balloon'. But nearly all of their music even lots of the early, more direct (&easy) works transport this special spiritual feeling. Its not only the analog & often natural sound which are responsible for this. I think its a mixture of far more elements including their genius in creating rythms, sound waves and mathematically correct music.

But what I wanted to tell you (and to come back to topic ;) ) is that a few weeks ago I had the opportunity to 'meet' them within a 'Psilohuasca' experience. Psilohuasca means by MAOI enhanced Psilocybin experience.
It was as many of you said before again a totally difference experience.
I also know about the difference between listening through various players/speakers. And the THC enhanced one, too.

But Psilocybin which is very (very) related to the endogenic psychedelic DMT made the BoC experience much more real than anything else. In the years before I was (while beeing mind enhanced) deeply into the (early) sounds of Jean Michel Jarre & partially Brian Eno. They do create a visible and feelable landscape through their music. Especially Oxygene enhances the visual part of mind altering.

BUT what Marcus & Michael have created here is in my opinion the direct key to parting spirit and body. When listening to the Headphase (on which I started) the sounds worked like a direct ticket to the universe. My spirit was washed away with thousands of colors and visual patterns, I was focussing pictures & places known and unknown. And it has this often discribed (when listening 'straight' without anything but them) warm feelings and flashbacks to my childhood.

I know this must sound strange, but believe me I am VERY experienced in spirituality with and without entheogenics. Especially with Psilocybes and Psilohuasca.

And I believe Michael & Marcus DO use Semilanceatas (also known as Liberty Caps). They are all around up there in scotland...

So, thats it for now,
thanks for reading,
Oliver

Please do not expect to much of me- I do not have much time to write here cause I have 3kids I am looking for- means very less time on my own.
