___One on Twoism CDr cancelled___

Post by Aesthetics »

I'm at a loss how to tell this but the One on Twoism CDr is not going to see the light of day...

Why? Because ExitEuXa doesn't want to finish what he started. Mainly because he had a tough time on the board the last couple of weeks before he quit posting. He had arguments on the board as well as via PMs and email. When he started he was really enthausiastic about this whole project but, along the way his mood dropped and he got really depressed. So much that he will be checking into an institution next week. He will be there for a long time he says. He has struggled with this before and Twoism helped make his frame of mind go downhill. It was the last drop that made the cup run over as he said.

After a period of constantly trying to contact him and being ignored I finally managed to talk with him the day before yesterday on slsk. His first comment was "leave me the fuck alone" but I managed to prize off the information I wanted. Along our conversation he came loose (because he took 60mg of valium) and he told me he quit the whole thing as mentioned before... I expressed my sympathy as I really feel sorry for him.

When all was said and done I wanted to secure all the money that is in his hands. He told me that he could not promise me that all the money will get back to the owners but he certainly would try to do it. I know this is going to piss off a lot of those who paid, especially nny and wwbjd because they ordered more than two copies. The problem is that ExitEuXa (Danny) changed all his email, usernames after our conversation etc just be sure no one can bother him anymore and to deal with everyday/routine business before he check into institution next week.

So, I can't promise anyone if the money will be returned at this point Sad

Danny, if you read this.. I'm sure no one on the board intented to get you in the position you are in now. Please return everyone who sent you money their money back. If this is quite a task then send everything to me.

The big "fuck you" to the board already succeeded because this project is ruined. Please don't let those who do not have anything to do with be the victim of this.

I'm sorry this failed... I can't do anything about the situation atm. Listening to One on Twoism will always be labeled with this situation.
I know some will have a big laugh about this but please try to respect ones feelings.

Damn... That's an awful and pretty messy situation with the money involved.

Hopefully there will be another way to hear this compilation.

The compilation will be available for download pretty soon. Depending on the feedback on this sad news we might just put it on air with a simple download or wait until wwbjd launches the download site which already was planned. I strongly doubt if he still want to do this...?

You got to be kidding me!

What do you mean "he could not promise you that all the money will get back to the owners but he certainly would try to do it"?! That is called "stealing".

Just because you get depressed and you decide not to do what you intended to do first, it is not a reason to change emails and user names. Especially after so much talk about doing the CD-R after we (the artists) mentioned the price of the unit and getting a copy to who contributed music. I mean, are we dealing with adults here?

I wonder how fool I was to trust the integrity of this guy and send him my money for 5 copies to me and some of my close friends. The price of the CD-R was a problem for them too and I got in trouble with them because of that, just because I insisted it would be a limited edition.

We are talking about 80eur here and I work hard to pay my rent and buy food to survive and still try to make my music.

Seriously, you can't imagine how mad I am at the moment.

I've been institutionalized before so I know how he feels and I wish him the best...but I want my copy of the cd I rightfully paid for or a full refund. Like nny said, I'm strugglin to live on my own and pay bills here so it's pretty vital I get that $ back. This is bullshit.

Well, this is disappointing to say the least.

Personally, I'd be happy to just download the album in .flac with the art as associated images. I can make the cd myself I suppose if I feel so inclined.

However, institutionalization or not, I feel like D4 owes it to the community to return the money, perhaps to someone willing to shoulder the pressing effort. But maybe that's a moot point now.

Sad.

Aesthetics, please keep us updated should anything happen relative to the money.

Now I'm sorta glad I didn't send money in. Nobody would've shipped to Australia anyway.

Bad situation all around. I didn't order a copy ("Can I trust these guys? Probably...but...") but I feel awful for everyone involved.

The Danny I know is honest through and through so I still have confidence everything will be alright.. the thing is, I can't promise it because I don't know how much this depression sucked him in. Don't get me wrong, I don't approve his adittude at all.. if he doesn't return the money it's stealing no matter what but I just don't know how much he realize this.

I just be in a faint and I hope to bend this into the other direction.

While I have sympathy for Danny's depression (been there, got the t-shirt), this really is a terrible way to behave. The guilt he'll feel at letting people down will come back to bite him more than the pressure of getting them manufactured. I know it's easy to say from here, but he should have handed the money, the masters and the details of all the folks who wanted these CDrs to someone else to finish the job; or at least for safekeeping.

It's not only hugely disappointing to those who ordered them, but also to the various artists who spent their time contributing to it. Not much else to say...

This is very disappointing.
While i can sympathise with Danver, he's not doing himself any favours by bringing down all this bad feeling on himself. His depression is really no excuse to keep other people's money.
After this everyone involved is going to be a little less trustful of other people, which is a real shame.

Jesus! I never ordered a copy, as I'm desperately saving £££ for getting married later this year, so I haven't bought any CDs for ages. I even had a bit of a crisis of conscience 'cos I knew how much effort had gone into it from the musicians involved (not to mention the logistics of getting it organised), so thought I should put my hand in my pocket. Good job I didn't.

As for D4/Exit... - well, he's always quick to dish out his opinions, so shouldn't be put out when others do the same. That said, I like the fella and wish him well. Hope he can do the decent thing and refund everyone.

Unless he is institutionalized for the rest of his life, or ends up dead, he has to pay us the money back. I am willing to wait because I understand his desperate situation, but at some point he has to pay us back what we payed him. $20 is a lot of money to me.
