Is there anyone here who doesn't like TCFHP?

i agree with d4verd4nn on this, hhowever with listening to poppy seed reprise for the first time a few days ago, i cant help but yearn for their older sound. its the old if it aint broke dont fix it. i am still enjoying TCH and will do for some time to come, however i hope that this is not a sign of things to come. i do prefer the raw analogue synth mixed with modern synth and samples from before the new album. i not concerned with hidden messages in their music (although it does make it interesting), it was always the melody, ive always loved the melody. thats what evokes the emotions in me when i listen to BoC.

Patience everyone! After numerous listens, I'm starting to get the impression that this is certainly the most challenging of BoC's albums, but is that such a bad thing? Also, from the sound of their comments in a number of their interviews, they are quickly getting to work on a new release of some kind. Trying to decode what they are actually saying in these interviews leaves the door open for all kinds of possibilities. Remember how manipulative these guys can be...if you ask me, they have us right where they want us. 
I don't see the comparision with Zero 7 and Air, which are both awesome bands but people need to look deeper than that. Why? Cause they use guitars? It's just not fair to lump them in the same catagory. I do agree with Ross Aday on the fact that OSTRE is too busy and probably my least favorite on the album.

Hmm...people don't change overnight. They don't give up a lifetime of principles for money. Remember this is what BoC have been doing since they were kids, it's no doubt instinctive to them, they'd do it even if they weren't signed, and they'll probably keep making music long after they stop releasing it.steve-o wrote:Thanks, I needed a good laugh. Do BoC really strike you as a band looking for recognition! If they really cared they'd do tons more interviews, live shows, videos, singles ect. It is painfully obvious to everybody how much they care about their art.If they really wanted to make money, they would've simply released twice the number of cds over the past few years...hell, we all know they are prolific enough. No, instead they spent ages perfecting one record...again what does this tell you? If they simply wanted to make money, why not just release back catalogue songs? TCH is a great record, don't lose your objectivity because it wasn't what you were expecting.
