Hooper Bay
I downloaded this version from an ftp site some time back, all I can say is;
a) How do you know they are not legitimate BOC tracks? What do you compare them to?
b) If they aren't real BOC tracks, then I would like to know who the real artist(s) are because Noatak is a quite brillliant track

I removed the link because it's not allowed to hotlink copyrighted material.
The first 3 songs are by Múm, I don't know about the others.

Before you ask, let's add that the Acid Memories you'll find on Soulseek are a nice little fake too ( including various BOC songs - if I remember right ther's even one from Geogaddi...). So don't waste your time whith those... and buy the albums! (oops, no, we can't...
)
By the way, what about the live in Sussex and the Demos that are also floating around the P2P?

Maybe it's a remix of a Mum song? Two fake tracks are taken from Mum's wonderfull album "Finally we are no one" (Fat Cat, 2002), maybe the other come from "Please smy my noise bleed" (remix album on Morr Music, remixes by B.Fleischman, Isan, Christian Kleine, Phonem and Styrofoam). I don't have this one, so I'm not sure...)neville wrote:All of the above, doesn't really answer my question No. 2 - who did Noatak?
yes and no... clever fakers adjust their track lengths to match up with those known lengths...acpigeon wrote:If you go to discogs.com (Or Fredd-E's site), you'll notice that the times for even the most obscure releases are listed. I don't know if they're legit or not, they probably are, but they're a nice way to weed out the fakes.

All of this was first posted on the old official BOC site (and yes, this mean the BOC brothers have the tapessix-five-two wrote:If you haven't noticed, the same guy put the old BoC stuff on discogs.com, does this mean he has the old cassettes?
Here's another Hooper Fake on Soulseek:
- 01. Seward (1:07)
- 02. Geiser (1:37)
- 03. Circle (1:34)
- 04. Noatak (3:02)
- 05. Point Hope (1:32)
Its a nice little compilation of little Buddy System tunes mixed with swet russian electronica (not 100% positively sure though...). Also, the guy is sharing "A Few Old Tunes" CD 1 & 2 (compilation of BOC tracks from various origins - didn't download that, no time to waste), and THREE versions of "The campfire Headphase" ("Fake 1", "Fake 2" and the real one). I love Soulseek...
