Bee's everwhere going missing . Mass extinction event ?

Not sure I buy the mobile phone theory. Surely that would result in a gradual decline in bee numbers rather than the sudden drop. It's not as if mobile phones have only appeared in the past year.

A friend of mine is a bee-keeper.. I've seen them the other week and it all looked good for as far as I can judge it. I haven't heard him about it but I shall ask what he knows about it. He is the expert so he should know I guess..

Bees are awesome to watch.
If I see some bees, I just stop, get real close and watch them. If you don't annoy them, they'll be perfectly fine with you around them.

I've been stung by bees before and it was no big deal. But last summer I was reading one of my routes for work and must've stepped on a hornets nest or something. I got stung in my leg and I never felt anything that painful from an insect sting beore. It felt like I got bit by a pit bull. I looked down at my leg and half of he fuckers body was still in my leg, stinger and all! I still have a scar from it.

really interesting topic...

i have noticed fewer bees in the past two or three years, let alone currently...

i'm petrified of the things...the last one i saw tried to escape my bedroom, failed then dropped to the floor...thinking it was dead i tried removing it but it suddenly woke up again...

There's an inevitable ending for a civilisation that considers parts of nature and ecosystems to be 'optional'.
Its tragic that a society where the economic buzz-word is 'efficiency', can't see the folly in replacing much the delivery systems of our basic needs, fine tuned by billions of years of planetary evolution, with 'technology'.
No doubt there's folks working away on some sort of large scale artificial pollination technology which can then be sold at profit.
