focus on the spiral

Post by silo flame »

i recently got a track off soulseek called 'focus on the spiral' by boards, i assumed it was fake but when i listened i must say ive got a very good...boc ear and it sounded like it just could be legit..it is 1:26, and on fredd-e's site it says this track is on closes vol.1 and is 1:28........i dont know maybe alot of people have this or know of it to be fake.?

...i also got "close3"....i am now fairly certain that these are indeed real boc tracks..

Maybe we could help identifying if you put it online or mail it (my address is mormel@gmail.com). :)
I hope it's genuine BoC, but there are so many fakes that it's hard to believe it will be the real thing.

just go to yousendit.com, put your email address where it says "recipient email address" (since you're sharing the link and not emailing it to someone),
if it's a couple or more of songs you can zip them by selecting them and then right clicking on them and choosing where it says "send to >" and then selecting "compressed (zipped) folder" (it'll take a minute for them to get compressed).
then you just go back to your browser and where it says "select file" just click on "browse" and select the zipped folder,
then just click "send" and share the link that comes up after the file finished uploading to the server 8)

close3:

here are two other songs i found on soulseek...they had no names except for "track 12" and "track 13" and i cant find on the discography where they match lengths(or song numbers) with any songs...but they definitely sound like legit old boc.:

track 12:

thanks a lot silo flame! well one of them (track 13) is the same track as track 13 in OT Vol 1 Side A but this one is shorter. Don't know about the rest but they don't seem fake to me.

Thanks for those Silo. "focus on the spiral" reminds me a bit of track 7 of the BOC 10 Years live set, with the heavy thumping drum coupled with a hard snare drum flicking about.

The yousendit links weren't working before but they are now.

I recognize the last two tracks from the Old Tunes tapes but I don't remember hearing the other two before and they are pretty damn convincing.

Do you have any more tracks, or remember the Soulseek username who you got them off?

"Focus on the spiral" is the same track I found on "Closes vol.1" on Soulseek, two other tracks too, but I don't have the complete "Closes vol1" (just 7 misc files, mostly very short ones), so I'm not sure it's real BOC material. (the "track 12", this one I don't now...).

(Well, of course... if Santa Claus could upload "Closes vol.1"... Santa Claus? Are you still here? )

anyone know if these 2 mp3s from Closes Vol.1 are recent rips? if so, where's the rest of the album?

i remember i got Buckie High and Mukhinabaht long before i got hold of Old Tunes Vol.2, maybe Closes Vol.1 is going to surface?

Thanks for posting these dope tracks... They certainly sound like legit BoC.... However, I hate to play devil's (in the details) advocate , but I think these tracks are (*ahem*) too good of quality.... I would think that any tracks from Catalog 3, or any albums prior to Twoism would be of lesser quality (i.e. recorded on tape)? I'm really only basing this on what I've heard off of BoC Maxima... wasn't it orignally tape only, then transferred to digital?

I do love the tracks, however, BoC or not... thanks

I totally agree with you. The drums on ''Focus on the Spiral" sound too new if that makes sense. Almost too crisp sounding for being that old, but who knows? I still like the tracks though. :D

Now that everyone is talking about their old tracks,I've also got some form slsk. One of which is "Echo The Sun".The length of the track is correct and the track it self is quite emotional and I think it's real.
I'll put it on yousendit some days later.

p.s. I think everyone who has their early tracks should share them so that they will be heard by who loves BoC.

I'm still in awe about the closes track, if it is. This better be fake or I might die from internal bleeding in my head.
