STS9 is an awesome band that I suggest most of you check out, not so ambient but more electronic jazz fusion... or something of the sort...

But I have been listening to them for about half a year now and I found out they have covered ROYGBIV and I got all excited but for everyone else who is interested in this track here is a link to download... from the site archive.org which has hundreds of artists' live stuff for free.

They used to play it much more in 2005 and they busted it out in their encore on the 27th in Ashville, NC for the first time since.

I first saw them in Austin back in 2002 at the first Austin City Limits music Festival. I was so impressed I turned around and saw them again that night at La Zona Rosa. Though they didnt do any BoC covers, it was a show unlike any other. I recommend any listening to some of their orginal material. Its ace. Thanks for this link. I have been wanting to hear this for awhile. Crazy to hear this song out of the only form I know...I quite liked it....

Yes! I'm glad that BoC peeps are finally discovering STS9. I have been seeing this guys since 2000, and they have grown by incredible leaps and bounds ever since. Probably the best band touring right now.

They are huge BoC fans themselves, and regularly collaborate with other electronic artists as well. If any of you guys can make it to North Carolina on the weekend of July 6-7, you should, because STS9 is hosting RE:emergence, a two-day small festival, featuring two STS9 sets a day, plus performances by Telefon Tel Aviv, Prefuse 73 and others.

STS9 is incredible and they are growing on me every single day. I saw them 2 Saturdays ago in Nashville and they sure did bring a rage. Absolutely the best performance I have ever seen. I had a backstage pass for advertising for them with posters and flyers in Nashville.

I will be attending the event in NC at Deerfields... but to correct you it is RE:Generation haha though I don't blame you mixing them up. haha now that you advertised this I have to work harder because I don't have enough money to buy my ticket yet and there are only going to be about 2,000 spots for this amazing event. By the way if you use the low down silentmorning42 my screen name is Spectrum_16 as well.

Another great way to get their material is to sign up for their podcast on iTunes. Amazing.

Also, STS9 has grown so much in the past few months... bringing down concerts without repeating songs for a few shows. And busting out with new songs like 1103, Unquestionable Supremecy of Nature, The Rabble, Abcees... oh man they are so good.

I like what they did on the cover. I fact, I don't think I've ever heard a BoC cover before?

I used to travel to see Sector 9 back in the day (2000-2002), even saw the first festival at Deerfields which is a sweet spot in the mountains.

Lost interest for a bit as they started to fumble around with the laptops, but these days they are way on top of it - check out their latest album Artifact for some great electronica thats borderline-IDM in spots

I went to see STS9 play here locally last fall at a friend's recommendation, I'd never heard of them before that. They totally blew me away, highly recommended.

The album Artifact is a good piece of work but when I think of STS9 I don't think of this. I think of their raw live performances that are sure the blow anyone away.

If you are willing to pay $0.99 a song or $12.50 a show for very good quality then I would pick up some tracks here: http://www.sts9music.com/ and if anything you can listen to the crisp samples of the audio.

I dont about you guys, but that sounded bad. I mean, I have never tried to cover a BoC song with guitars and drums and what not but talk about boring.

i will agree that there isnt much to it...and it is nothing compared to the real version...but there things i do like about it...the guitar melody...and the distant echoy vocals...its just neat to hear outside they way i have heard it thousands of times before...

Yes, true.

One thing to take into account is that all the material on archive.org is free because it wasn't recorded professionally I guess... I have some stuff the band records on their sound board and stuff from archive from the same show and it is a completely different sound... archive is real bassy and distorted but the band's sound board is crisp clean recording and you can hear the guitars and synths much better. :roll:

Once the Asheville show sound board is posted I will put a link on here so you can hear a sample... or if you would like to purchase it...
