Happy Cycling----the bike trip

Post by Vordhosbn »

OK so I am new in town. But I've had this idea for a while now. Actually, the first time I ever heard Happy Cycling I had this idea...

I don't need to teach a history lesson or anything...But well when Dr. Albert Hoffman first synthesized LSD, he had small amounts on his fingers, and while he was riding his bike home, things got a bit...ya know.....

WELL....I'm just thinking this song is describing his bike *trip* home. It seems like its mysterious and subtle at first, but then when the swirling meoldies come in near the end of the song, its like hes riding into neverland...

Thoughts?

Oh yeah, that might be a good point, but I think they once gave another meaning to the name. Uh, maybe somebody else will remember.

yes I don't really believe this is the true meaning, especially since on one the old tapes there seems to be a song named "Rodox Happy Cycling" but I dunno about that either...

haha yeah, the beggining of the song is kind of eerie and unsettling just like the feeling of lsd coming on,..the end would probally be the breakthrough when you start peaking (pure joy) haha.

Interesting thought. Those last 2+ minutes of Happy Cycling are pure heaven. I get sent into a whole different world when it begins.

YES, I know it sounds daft but I also thought this, dont know where I never brought it up.

This is what this song reminds me of.

That is all, farwell.

I feel like bumping this thread. The threads theses days have graudually disintegrated into nonsense.

Is there any other things Happy Cycling could mean? I couldn't relly come up with any other than this. Actually this idea popped into my mind just looking at the title, before I'd even heard the song.

you have opened a world of reason to me!

Hey I know it makes me happy to hit the trail on my mountain bike, so I never really questioned the title of the song.

To be honest, I always thought it was something to do with a more profound type of cycling; like people's life cycle, or other natural cycles. In the back of my mind I've always thought of the title as if BOC were saying to people: 'we want to get out of any mundane cycle and go exploring our own way. If you don't, then happy cycling'.

And I much prefer the build up of the first 5 minutes.
