Pet Hates

Post by niknak »

Being a misanthropic bastard and having found loads of things annoying me recently i thought i'd vent some spleen. After all there's too much niceness and positivity on this forum!

My pet hates -

- People who stand on escalators
Especially when they stand so you can't get past them, and really especially on down escalators. I mean how lazy do you have to be to find walking down a flight of stairs too much????

- People who use umbrellas.
I'm sorry, but water is not poisonous and anyway your skin is waterproof, and also doesn't have little metal spikes on the edges at just the right height to scrape someones eyeball.

- Animated avatars
You know who you are....

- Taxi and van drivers
I am a cyclist and these are my mortal enemies. I don't care if it's your job, you do not own the fucking roads.

- People who write 'your' instead of 'you're'.
It's really, really simple - if you mean 'you are' it's 'you're'; if not, it's 'your'

- Astrology, homeopathy, etc - basically all those psuedosciences that have no basis in reality.
If you can't explain how it works then why do you believe in it?

So come on everyone. What really gets on your wick? What pisses you off? Let the negativity begin!

Yesterday I bought a bag of mixed nuts to eat in the car. It turns out that one of the kinds of nuts in there had shells on it and the rest didn't have shells. So I had to drive down the freeway eating around the shelled nuts!
Someone needs to tell the nut factory to keep shelled nuts and unshelled nuts separate!

I also hate the words "Cool beans".

I really fucking hate people my age or younger who make jokes about popular culture from before they were born. Just because you include Mr T, Chuck Norris, The Fonz or Gary Coleman in your sentence doesn't turn that sentence into a joke!

I ever catch myself doing this with stuff from my childhood in about 10 years time ill be very depressed.

- Music snobs/people who think their opinion is better than everyone elses and forces that opinion on people
- People who talk with improper grammar, typing isn't so much of a bad thing, but "A apple"??! What the fuck man, it's an apple!
- People who don't take seats next to you on busses, even when there's no other seats around, they just stand instead.

Cell phones, famous people (especially actors), top 40 radio (actually, pretty much all radio in general), popular culture, society and its contradictions and total ignorance to humanity, those motherfucking animated banner adds with audio that pop up everywhere on the net now.

I'll think of more later.

people who smoke 40 a day and a bottle of wine a night and then have the nerve to call me an idiot for smoking weed.

my school and it's little itty bitty shitty rules which are completely backward and unnecessary.

I dunno if any of you guys have this round where you live, but in essex right now, there's this trend among people my age and younger (I'm 16) where dressing up in fluorescent clothes and being as loud and as disturbing as possible in public and wasting money buying throwaway rubbish because it's "funny". I hate that they defend themselves as "we're not crazy and random, we just know how to have a good time"
I do feel as though I am a grumpy old man but these kids are actually the most immature people in the world.

recently we witnessed one buying 20 gnomes from Poundland while all their friends stood round laughing.

what?

Yeah, flashness/bling/wasting money for show.
Hate that too.

Also - people who campaign against mobile phone masts near their homes - but use mobile phones. So they're ok near someone else's home??

Where is some good old-fashioned playground bullying when you need it?
