Honestly, I think that these themes are completely in the mind of the listener. I don't think BoC plans or intends on a specific theme at all. Theeir songs do have a great sense of unity on all their albums though, and that lends itself very well to the listener interpreting a theme.the concept of this album will probably be "the redmoon party" this time,
well all their albums have that great concept (gathering of friends around the bonfire listening to music on psychedelics) anyway...

It's not all bad but I prefer dancing clowns eating rotten sandwitches. Yes, all circus workers are fattyross adey wrote:like OMFG!! haven't you, like, heard? their next album is gonna be about, like, mongolian lady-boys who've got, like, really special mind gifts and, like, acrobatic skills. they're soooooo looking forward to putting it out there.

Isn't that what Campfire Headphase was about...
I mean I think they explicitly talked about it in an album interview a bit back...
not necessarily redmoon, but the concept of the sitting there with your mind and exploring inwardly (unless its outward exploration with those fitty cent-BoC mashups that they plan on doing

Well, whenever the new stuff comes out... IF it ever comes out.. I just hope they haven't made it incredibly mainstream (aka.. TCH to the extreme). I guess I just want that gritty old, warped, fucked up vocal-y type feel, not a studio-perfect masterpiece. I hope people agree with me on this one.. it's been in the back of my mind for a while
I tottally agree. And I hate that everyone's saying mainstream isn't a bad thing. Well...it IS for BoC. Not becouse they'll get famous, but that the music will go downhill becouse of it.Mirror Lake wrote:Well, whenever the new stuff comes out... IF it ever comes out.. People that listen to mainstream music just have a need for the known, while BoC is all about the UNknown.
Throw away your smartphone.
No that won't happen, they seem to move in endless cycles without beginning or and end. I think TCH shares a lot in common with BoC maxima...esp tracks like everything you do is a balloon, carcan, boc maxima, whitewater, sixtyniner, niagra. Or more importantly they feel the same to me, TCH is my second favourite album after BoC Maxima. Perhaps we're just a little sad because so much of the mystery has been stripped away over the past couple of years, in interviews etc.Mirror Lake wrote:Well, whenever the new stuff comes out... Anyway i think if they needed the money, they'd sooner rerelease their back catalogue than make a mainstream record.
I hope (they probably wont) they'll make an entirelly different project for it then...Solstice wrote: Anyway i think if they needed the money, they'd sooner rerelease their back catalogue than make a mainstream record.

Yeah, I agree. From reading BoCs interviews, I just don't believe that they could ever make an album designed for a mainstream audience, its not the type of music they make, and they just seem opposed to all of that. I think The Campfire Headphase was just its own isolated project, I don't think the band is going to release anything else like that. Bocs latest releases have been kind of ehhh,..amazingly good but compared to Geogaddi or Mhtrtc their just not hitting the same level.Mirror Lake wrote:Well, whenever the new stuff comes out... I believe that with this new album they are going to shock us with some really great new beautifull shit, that rivals mhtrtc and geogaddi. Its like with the few songs that are on the TCHep they gotta be saving some incredibly lush stuff for an LP.

It's been a while since I posted anything on here. Do to the fact of all the new people jacking off to dayvan.
"Personally I wouldn't care less if BoC never released another track again." I would agree ONLY if they kept going in the same direction as the last album. Don't get me wrong I love all of their music, but The Campfire Headphase and Trans Canada Highway dose not compare to their previous work.
Till they release another new single or album, I will pray that they stay away from the guitar side. They keep going in that direction? Next thing you know, they are singing too, then they are just another T-SHIRT at HOTT-TOPIC...
And yes, I know they have used guitar in their past. Boo Hoo.
