Back in the day I would have thought so, too. But really, they don't tour and they're not exactly climbing up the pop charts. They have to make money somehow. If I was in their shoes, I would much rather sell a track here and there than go look for some shitty dead end job to make ends meet.silo flame wrote:mildly depressing
the music will always hold the same meaning to me whether it's in a commercial or not.

I guess he means that the only people that will take the trouble to look up the music from a commercial are people who really like the tunes, which probably is only a small fraction of the people who watch it. It's a subtle means of exposure..isawdrones wrote:Through a car ad?boardsofdublin wrote:i think its great when their music is used in ad's cause then people find them the way they want them to.

I'm pretty sure that in the interview from The Face magazine (still missing) they drove the interviewer round in a BMW and there was something about quite liking cars. Possibly, also, that beamer came from doing the advert for them.
"They're actually a deal more open, articulate and opinionated than many other musicians of their generation, and don't appear terribly secretive. A kung fu manual is prominently stuffed in the back seat pocket of Eoin's car, and Sandison rabbits away as we motor through the Scottish countryside, eulogising about being a parent and at one point asking his wife to text him a photo of his baby daughter at the dinner table so that he can show us. "
always thought that was a funny image....from the wire interview
