this song makes me fiend the old albums so hard..i know its only like a 40 second clip but it just sounds so...intensely ugly and simple and out of place but so nice..completely boc vibes...i bet the full song (and all the other old tunes) would be fucking unbelievable.

OK, so I assume MBV = My Bloody Valentine who I've just discovered are liked by BOC:-

Hey man, I've just skimmed that interview and discovered Marcus and Michael are brothers! Sorry if I'm a little late discovering that but it really make sense to me now. I always wondered how they managed to stick together for so long.

Incidentally, I noticed the interviewer spelt 'definitely' wrong (definately). That one winds me up, he should know better!

Hey, thedisavowed, it's funny that you should mention that line about Christmas never really stopping because today I received A Beautiful Place Out in the Country and Hi Scores from Warp Records. Nice prompt delivery too. I have all their stuff now on CD (about time!), all I can buy that is. It's a good feeling. I ripped them at great quality and slapped them on my jukebox for my eternal pleasure. If it makes it to the afterlife that is.

Ooops, forgot this one: no shoegazing, just one of the most beautiful (and influential) electronic album i've heard this last few years (with Isan's "Beautronics" and "Music has the right to children"):
- Fennesz "Endless Summer" (Mego, 2001)
Maybe you'll need to listen a few times before enjoing it (the title refers to the Beach Boys, but it's still a MEgo album). Hope you'll like this one.

Hey DocteurOrlof, further to your recommendations, I have managed to listen to Fennesz' "Endless Summer", Slowdive's "Souvlaki", Ride's "Nowhere" and finally Isan's "Beautronics" (the first 7 tracks)

Now then, track 1 off Beautronics I recognised straight away, a gorgeous track. It's on a CD I have from the Channel 4 series in the UK called The Trip (wonderful series late at night featuring montages of strange video clips over some great music). Boards of Canada are on it too, Telephasic Workshop to be exact.

The Isan stuff is truly cool, I'll buy the album.

The Slowdive album is also very good. Many nice tracks on here.

Loving Fennesz "Endless Summer". Shisheido is a beautiful track. The whole album is gonna sound great tonight when I listen to it with my cans in bed in the dark. Another one to buy.

Finally that Ride album is pretty cool. Retro sounding for sure (60's). I can hear The Stone Roses in there too (not saying they were an influence). That opening track "Seagull" is an awesome track man, as is Kaleidoscope.

I'm hoping to find the Pale Saints' "The Comfort of Madness" and Piano Magic's "Low Birth Weight" soon.

Anyway, I've not had chance to fully listen to all the stuff but just wanna thank you for pointing me towards such great music.

Finally, I have two recommendations for you (or anyone else reading this), two of THE MOST BEAUTIFUL albums I have ever heard. They are The Plateux Of Mirror and The Pearl, both are by Harold Budd and Brian Eno. The music is truly sublime. I feel sure you will appreciate them enormously (if you don't already have them that is).

Oops, shame on me... I bought a several Eno albums a few years ago ("Taking tiger mountain", "Another green world" - his best?, "Ambient 1"...), but missed those two. I could just download them, but I guess in the end I'll have to buy them anyway :roll:

About Isan, except maybe "Lucky cat", all their albums are good (the latest "Meet next life" is a gem), and their long out of print singles are even better. That's why the "Clockwork menagerie" should be be on your (neverending?) list too.
