hahaha, i can see it now. caine behind the decks in fabric, tapping his fingers and foot contentedly. if fairness, the guy's taste ain't too bad. no ordinary morning is a nice enough tune.

Aawh man! I hate this. Everyone can select a couple of tunes and put it on a cd.I do so at least once a week. Just becouse he's a famous actor his one is better then everyone elses? Fuck that.

Aw, come on! It's not that bad. So you're saying if BoC released a "Journeys By DJ" or an "All Back to Mine" you wouldn't be interested?

Give the guy some credit, he clearly knows his onions (i've seen him interviewed on the subject before). So it might be a bit of a gimmick, but that doesn't matter.

i think it's fair to view it the way Cupz is, though I personally don't see it as stuck-up or pretentious. I figure if Caine's interest in a certain type of music is legit, and I'm sure it is, there's nothing cooler than him trying to pursue it. Besides, 74-year-old British people doing chillout is just about the best mental image ever.

I agree with Cupz. I like Michael Caine for his acting. But him releasing a cd with his favourite tracks sounds more like a joke especially when Elton John gave him the idea.

I don't think so - You can look at it two ways:

1) Recognising the artistic contribution of someone to their country
2) Recognising the economic benefit brought to a country through an artisits work.

Regardless of what you think of the honours system, I don't think it's ridiculous at all to recognise someone for their contribution in any field.
