If anyone is interested, Elephant Eyelash is a great album by Why?. Also, have any of you guys ever heard Dntels solo work? "Life is Full of Possibilities" is such a good cd. I am excited about his remix too.

Dntel's latest is pretty dire, but they had a remix competition for the single 'Dumb Luck', which my band did a pretty fantastic synth-pop remix of: http://myspace.com/donteatsky

lame. i wish they would quit with other peoples shit and work on their own. the only remix i like that they did is with beck.

I don't think doing remixes is what's keeps the rate of releases slow.

Some of their remixes are amongst their best work, though. I always love hearing what they can do to someone else's music.

but if they didnt do remixes then it would knock 3 or so months off waiting time for a new album

I'm sure they're capable of working on more than one project at a time! Besides, all work and no play....etc. They can take just as long as like making the next record as far as I'm concerned and if they want to do a few remixes along the way, that's just fine.

Side point (possibly unrelated but...) - the myspace site is saying "Hexagon Sun, New Zealand". How long has it said that? I've never noticed it before. Wondering if they are recording abroad? Certainly New Zealand has a cool vibe to write in, I'm sure.

"It's not as if these two aren't well travelled. Sandison once lived in London for a couple of years; they've lived in Edinburgh itself and, when they decide to take a break from their recording (and each other) to spend time with their partners, they're off travelling on the other side of the world - Sandison mentions recent trips to France, Australia and New Zealand (where he's thinking of moving), while Eoin's considering a new life in Hong Kong with his Chinese girlfriend."

That is an interesting addition to the site. I wonder too, with all those images of planes and so forth, whether they were trying to tell us something, back when they were put up. Also, might explain the red moon event last year. Was it a goodbye to old friends? A last chance to do one? Perhaps.
