These are really, really great.

Sixtyniner is especially inspired, I think.

And I still love the Flash intro.

And Robotanalysis's Trails.

Thanks Robotanaylsis.

Flash Intro remix is very nice, i'm not really into the other helios stuff i've heard - unomia, it's a bit derivitive, but these are very cool.

I've found that several of the artists on Merck have too much love for blank ambience in their tracks.

But there's some brilliance there, too.
Helios's "Velius" is gorgeous.

And Cepia's "Hoarse." I love that one.

But I really don't have a problem with derivation at all... after all... music has a right to children.

I think Unomia is a good album (Nine Black Alps is amazing), but I find many of his unreleased tracks even better, and there's tons of them! I'm still curious is to why he picked the tracks he did for that album? Here's another one of my favorite ''unreleased" tracks.

Holy sh*t! Helios' BoC Covers are absolutely outstanding! I've often wondered what other's interpretations to BoC songs would be like (I've found myself humming jazz, piano and acoustic interps in my head... that's about as far as I can go with it...). But to hear Helios' tracks is bloody fantastic. I read that BoC has nearly an all acoustic version of one of their albums (MHTRTC I think, locked away in their vaults)... now I really would kill to hear it.

I probably sound like an over-sheltered freak when I say I've never heard of Helios, only here in the pages of Twoism... I didn't realize he had any albums (I've been to a site and found some mp3s of his that are quite eclectic... It's nice to hear one with talents so varied). Any recommendations? Is there a way to purchase direct from the artist (does Amazon really need more of my hard erned cash?)

Thank you all for posting and sharing!

Even if they released some samples (hell, we'll take 30-second clips) to the public it would be smashing.

You can order his record directly from Merck @ http://www.m3rck.net.
