Telephasic Workshop-Alpha and Omega

Post by YELLOW »

These two are really very similar songs upon further listening.
Both have basically the same drum patterns and beat.
They both start and stop with with muffled intros.

what do you guys think?

It's weird. I used to hate these songs and blend them together in my mind, but now I love them.

Holy crap, and I thought I was the only one who considered it.

Additionally, I also tried linking MHTRTC songs with Geogaddi's. 1969 to Aquarius, Eagle in your Mind to music is math...

Something about Sixtyten and Sunshine Recorder seems very similar in that same fashion

Well, Sixtyten and Sunshine Recorder use some sampled voices from the same sources, they're just backwards and pitch-shifted around in Sixtyten. That might be part of it.

Do you know what those sources are?

I was listening today at the version of Sunshine Recorder at the ATP concert, and i would say that there's the exact same sample used in telephasic workshop but at a higher speed or something, what do you guys think?

I think you're right... I've always understood the sample source for that chopped male vocal in the ATP Sunshine Recorder to be the same as that of Telephasic Workshop.

Same treatment of the sample in both, too (perhaps too similar?) which could account for Sunshine Recorder switching that for a different sample on Geogaddi.

Same with Aquarius and The Beach At Redpoint. I'm positive that the latter is another remix of Aquarius.

^ Interesting re: the main synth... Surprised I didn't hear the similarity after all these years.

While we're on the topic of being off-topic, I've always thought Echus has some Rodox Video lurking in it...

I think the drums in the two tracks actually share more in common than the synths do.
