Favorite songs by Brian Eno?

Post by Mirror Lake »

What's some of your favorite work by Brian Eno?

I haven't heard much but I'd like to give all his stuff a spin. I've been curious about his music ever since I heard "An Ending/Ascent" in 28 Days Later.

I love "Strange Light" from music for films
Black then White are all I see in my infancy...Red and Yellow then came to me, reachin' out to me, lets me see...

Apollo: Atmospheres and Soundtracks is one of my alltime favourite albums.

1/1 and 2/2 from his Music for Airports album are also excellent.

Ah, the king of ambient, well I'm going with An Index of Metals. I also love Neroli.

Oh man.. I would say

ALL of Apollo Atmospheres and Soundtracks (if you don't own this, buy it today)
ALL of Music for Airports
ALL of Ambient 4: On Land

and I have a special place in my heart for "From the Same Hill" from Music for Films

I seriously own like 10 of his albums. Genius stuff.

And if you like Eno, I would seriously recommend Stars of the Lid "And Their Refinement of the Decline."

I do feel like they are carrying the Eno torch these days in a significant way.

Apollo is definitely my favorite Eno.

I used to listen to tracks Drift through Always Returning in the mornings before I'd go biking last summer, I swear Silver Morning and Deep Blue Day are the best ways to greet the morning sunshine ever.

And Under Stars II makes me tingly every goddamn time. <3 it.
