It's finished. :) Sort off. :(

Explanation: When I began I had big expectations of this. Ofcourse things didn't go the way they should so i changed my concept. Then in stead of using the full 10 weeks for it, lazy me just used 2.
This is partially because i've totally had it with school at that moment and didn't feel like designing stuff, or do any schoolstuff at that moment.

Then there was this thread where i posted this:
Frank wrote: Actually i'm not really happy how it turned out. I now have the feeling i shouldn't try to explain boc, but just keep it to myself. When i started i was more like 'Everyone who reads this should know as much about boc as i do after reading it'. But.. that's impossible, for me anyway. I'm not a writer, i'm a designer. And at this moment i don't even like the design that much anymore. I will finish it anyway, but i'm not really happy with it, which kinda sucks because it's my thesis and all, but yeah..
Anyway, to the point. I felt like i had to show this since i asked y'all for ideas and i promised i would show the results.
Btw, please keep in mind:
- i'm not really happy with it.
- this doesn't represent my other work.
- I used WAY too little time to make what i really wanted.
- I realised (like mentioned in the quote) i shouldn't try to explain boc, which was quite a problem to me since i had to finish it hehe.
- i suck for fucking this project up. :/

Concept:
An introduction to Boards of Canada.
Left side, introduction to get to know the guys and their way of doing things. (text from an interview)
Right side, discography, and looking deeper into(/explaining) six songs, included on a CD.

Front. Boring and so not boc.
Turned out to be black anyway, read CoboC's post on the top of the page for more info. :P
Image

Inside. Like a photoalbum.
I used official boc artwork combined with my own photo's and a little photoshop for the artwork in my book. (and yes, that ís 5 pages and the CD missing on the right side. :/ )
Image

Left side inside. Top page: artwork+quote. Bottom page: piece of an interview i used to explain boc.
This 'system' is used on all the left pages.
Image

Left side inside detail.
Image

Magic Window page 8)
Image

Right side Discography page.
Image

Song explanation
Since i figured i shouldn't try to explain the music itself, i mirrored the text and put it upside down. By putting mirrorpaper (?) on the top half you can try to read it, but it's nearly impossible.
Image

So there we go. It's allright I guess, but far from what i really wanted/expected at the begin of all this.

I didn't read the expectations part, so to me it looks bomb! Nice work, I say.

Heh thnx guys. :)

What bothers me the most is that it hasn't become what i wanted (far from). It's pretty standard (although i still like the photoalbum idea) but it should be really special, since it was my last project on this school.

Some day... :)

Hehe thnx. :) Well like i said, if it was just for a normal project or something i would be more than happy with it. Because it just looks good, for that criterium. But since it's my thesis i wanted to make something more out of it.
