Mogwai

Post by DRS »

Any fans on here? Just listening to "kicking a dead pig" remix album...some of the stuff on there is amazing. The Gwai on 45 remix by Arab Strap is awesome, as is (topically) the Kevin Shield's Mix of "mogwai fear satan". anyone heard the album? what's your favourite Mogwai songs generally?

I've not heard anything really from them except a remix of Arcadian. What kind of sound do they have?

Thats gotta be one of my favorite albums of all time. Jam that one during the summer alot. The arab strap remix is probably one of the most beautifull things you can hear, love that melody with the bells.

Love Mogwai so much. They also have absolutely, positively THE best light show at the end of any gig I've ever seen - and I include Muse in that too. Just a special, special band.

wow, such a well thought out, constructed and grown-up way to reply. Not at all an attention seeker sitting at home dreaming up ways to "burn" people over the internet.

well done.

Um. No disrespect, but I think you might be reading too much into his reply there DRS. Doesn't read like a put down to me? Hope not anyway because this is usually a pretty friendly place :D

I love Mogwai. GY!BE was my introduction to post-rock but Mogwai was the band that turned it into a lifestyle choice. I like their earlier stuff better, but I still love the new album. As much as I love the Loud/Soft aspect of post-rock, it has been done to death, and the new album proves that Mogwai are all about trying new stuff rather than just sticking to an aesthetic.

Oh, the nights at all those Mogwai shows.....I've seen them damn near 15 times starting back, wow, too long ago. Saw Stuart sit in with GYBE a few times, that was cool. Great dudes too.

necessary to lie?
I should explain that Mogwai are a new point of view of rock music for me, that 'eavy guitars and xplosive drums make a similar feel like Boc. Besides both bands are from Scotland consequently, the english repression could be the mother of scottish creativity? LOL

I apologize for my brief times posting here, the little islands where I live aren't big enough to be a unknown..

see ya

dracula family is really beautiful.

i still don't understand why mr. beast hasn't clicked with me...it just seems forced in comparison to everything else by them. hmm.
