Haha. I won't knock it until I hear it.
Anyway, BoC have sampled a bit so why shouldn't others sample them.
Gives them a nice bit of pocket money which ensures they can continue to record.

And I'm assuming they've given clearance so they or Warp must have heard it and OK'd it.
It was only a matter of time before mainstream R'n'B producers start looking towards these type of artists to sample as their beats and loops as they are generally more refined beats.
Anyway I'd say most r'n'b producers have ravaged the libraries of old soul/funk/jazz/pop samples and need to start looking elsewhere.

Most mainstream R'n'B has been shite over recent years but in the past there has been the odd exception where some tracks have been lush.

Although, if this one is gash I'll be dissapointed.

This is actually pretty funny. Freescha producing for Britney Spears and Solange Knowles using BoC samples. I'm very curious what the outcome will be.
For an instant I thought Balil(plaid) was also one of those artists but I looked over it before I read Bilal.

They need the extra bucks to pay for the electric bill, because they can't keep up with their supar-musick machines. :|

I'm guessing it's one of their tracks with an element of poppiness to it and the potential to be used for the dance floor: Roygbiv or telephasic workshop, or skyliner perhaps? any ideas?
Can't picture any Geogaddi tracks being used (maybe with the exception of alpha and omega).
But you never know. The great thing about sampling is that it can take something far removed from the club dancefloor, turn it on its head and use it constructively to sound fresh and different from the original. Lets hope this is the case.

interesting indeed. wasn't quite sure what to think when i read it first though. suppose it's good for the electronica community as a whole. i wonder what track they're going to use? my money's on dayvan cowboy, or '84 pontiac dream.

I'm thinking this is the first time they've done this under the BoC name. I wouldn't be surprised if they've been doing this sort of thing for years in secrecy (or Hell Interface). The guys have to do something to pay the bills when they're only releasing an album every 3 years, know what I'm saying?

ah yeah i'm sure they have other music out there for years that no one has cop't onto yet and producing music for the big wigs too.

More power to them. I will always have Geogaddi.

Besides, I kind of like the idea of them corrupting the masses from the inside. Stealth tactics like....
