The complete truth is, by nature, ineffable to Man--though bits and pieces of it may be shown to him. Dogma is a tool of power constructed by Man to control those around him. Love is the only truth. But what is this elusive term, Love? I've seen many definitions of love, but there's one definition that seems to top the rest (for whatever reason):

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails."

Selflessness, basically.

The strict dogmas of Catholicism and most Christianity seem to obscure the truths which lie hidden deep within...

Why do I consider the way you write so fucking weird? Because truthfully, nothing is that wrong about it, but I'm pretty sure some of the stylistic intention which comes out in your writing is misrepresented when it is put into English. Everything you write, to me, as a retarded American, sounds so hilarious in my head as I read it. I don't really have any critique of what you are talking about, you can obviously write whatever you want, and it is usually pretty funny, but man, the way in which you write is just puts the icing on the cake.

Hey, how can you cite Corinthians as the best definition of love and then say that Christianity obscures truth? Just wondering..

Oh, yeah and even though I hardly ever post, I thought I should cuz there's hardly any Catholics representin'.

It depends on your definition of Christianity. Many of the stereotypical "Christians" of today would be classified as Pharisees, because they are self-righteous, judgemental, and don't practice what they preach. There are also some "Christians" who follow modern, dogmatic rules (like going to church, praying before eating food, not killing people, etc.) but in their hearts they are lost to the spirit of Jesus' love. There are many Christians who would look down upon others simply for not folding their hands and bowing their heads before a meal.

Of course, no one is perfect, and such Christians shouldn't be likewise looked down upon for their judgementalism, for that would be judgementalism in and of itself.

The dogmas of Christianity (and even more so, Catholicism), serve to destruct and obscure the truth (Unconditional, Sacrificial Love) by making religion into a matter of works and repetitious, meaningless utterances rather than a spiritual change of heart. Jesus didn't want people to get caught up in routine symbolic offerings.

Even in the days when YHWH mandated sacrifice, years before the birth of Jesus, David, a man after God's own heart, said that "Thou dost not delight in sacrifice, otherwise I would give it; Thou art not pleased with burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; A broken and a contrite heart, O God, Thou wilt not despise."

And Jesus said nothing of entering into Heaven by attending church or counting your Rosary nightly. Instead, for example, he says things like, "Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven."

Jesus said "Where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there, with them", but he never said to go to church every Sunday morning at 10. I know some people who would feel very guilty for being late to or missing church.

Jesus also never said to pray before meals. And, heavens, he never said to confess our sins before priests, or to count the rosary, or to worship icons (idolatry). Those things are all creations of men, and very flawed, and serve to distract us from doing what Jesus would have us do.

Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.

Jesus never preached Christianity. Christianity is just a word for people who claim to follow Christ.

Anyway... that's how I can quote Corinthians and then say Christianity sometimes obscures the truth.
