Autechre - Quaristice

Man, I listened to a few Autechre songs a few months ago and I just didn't like them. Maybe I'm not hearing the right ones. I'll give it another go.

I used to really hate Autechre couple of years ago... and all of a sudden it just clicked and i'm hooked ever since...

Yeah, me neither.
Im not listening to the album till it comes in the mail though.
Then I shall roll one up and hit a country road, late at night.
I think I shall be alright, the desriptions sound nice, they dont mean nuthin tho.

I know for the 2cd limited edition. I wish I could afford it but it's too late. T_T

For people who want to discover Autechre, there is only one thing I have to say:

I started with Untilted and worked my way back.
I found it easier to digest the Chiastic Slide - Untilted stuff, and Incunabula - Tri Repetae was instantly likable.

As for Quaristice itself, I'd say it's just worse than Draft 7.30 at this point.
I think the 'meh' tracks outweigh the good tracks, but in the second half it gets really good.
My favourite songs from Quaristice at the moment are WNSN, chenc9, Theswere, Altibzz, plyPhon and Simmm.

And if you want that list of Ae albums in order of favourite to least favourite...

Don't take anyones opinion on Autechre seriously....they are ALL DIFFERENT. I've seen all of their cds listed as the best, and all their cds listed as the worst on someone else's list.
Go with Aesthetics and start from the earlier material and progress with the band.

i started with tri repetae and lp5 first... then onto amber and incunabula. i was really weary about getting myself into confield.. but when i finally did, i loved it. getting into ae can be a daunting task, but just keep reminding yourself... its just music, and these guys are smart, they know what they are doing.

Definitely a headphone album. Sounds of the real world encroaching on this feel all wrong. Loving the run from 'Simmm' through to 'rale'. I've always leaned towards their less experimental tunes anyway (Tri Repetae, Amber, LP5).

Okay, best is speakers cranked so you can feel the bass and headphones to make an enclosed sound world.

Fair chance my neighbours would kill me if I played most Autechre that loud though.
