Becouse I read some post Hills made, I wonder if there are more people on this board with alcohol "problems". I would also like to invite Hills to discuss his alcohol use.

As for myself, I can't drink alcohol becouse it is said to trigger cluster-headaches (I don't really know if thats for certain...but I'm on medication that doesn't allow that anyway) I don't miss the stuff really, although I crave for a good glass of whine or port every once in a while.

"Drinking has its ups and downs" as Hills put it, I kinda agree. An up is that it can be enjoyed, but a downer is that it can ruin your life (and the life of others around you), and it can couse serious brain damage...at least, if you really "drink to forget".

i haven't drank alcohol in over three years. i hate the current binge drinking trend here in the United Kingdom. see a drunk person walking down the street? why...lets all start singing songs about how drunk we are! one of your friends goes sick...lets just start taking pictures and laugh instead of actually helping him! but no, seriously - alcohol has never appealed to me, and never will.

I used to binge drink every weekend. Nowadays I have a beer or two every other day.

Alcohol can be useful in a variety of ways, but its most useful purpose, on which i think we could all agree, is to make getting laid easier.

now i'm drinking a few cans of these:

TBH i dont drink that much anymore but i find once i get a taste its hard to stop. that bottle of wine is gone (the mrs only had a glass) and it wasnt quite enough for me so i popped to the 24hr supermarket to get 3 of these for 318 yen. 7% baby. very tasty, very refreshing. i think the only thing with my drinking i would like to control is knowing when to stop. i'm alright tonight. but i have to get up in 7 hours because i have a japanese lesson in 9 hours. i'm not drunk now, wont be by the time i get to bed, nor will i be when i wake up in the morning (i hope O_O). the main reason i drink now at home now i'm in japan is boredom, mostly. i play my wii (virtual console 90% of the time) and have a drink. i'm not a morning drinker, but i guess you could call me a binge drinker...

looking forward to OoT vol.2 in 8 hours. you guys are gonna make me proud, i'm sure ^_^

I absolutely love whiskey and beer. I love trying new and exciting beers. Last time i was up on the North Shore I tried a bunch of lagers and ales (mostly ales) brewed in Duluth, I even toured a little brewery built into a shopping center (which is itself a renovated ollllld brick building) and came home with a growler of Starfire! I don't drink whiskey hardly ever, since it tends to punish me (one of the downers of drinking). But I adore beer. It is one of my favorite things. I think alcohol is misused a lot, I think it is used too often as a "brain-blaster" rather than an experience-enhancer - i use it like a mild psychedelic sometimes, because it can generate amazing and profound experiences when i'm drinking it socially (don't even get me started on the new years party i had with my gradeschool buddy back at the end of 2007, it was an amazing odyssey).

i would trade 100 cans of japan's finest beer for an eighth of weed right now. i haven't had a smoke since november and its really not cool. what i wouldn't do for someone to smoke me up.

I enjoy drinking heavier stuff, but I rarely do it, just because 90% of the time it gives me a headache

my drinks of choice are as follows...i dont drink that often. mainly the weekends. but i am kind of a seasonal drinker. i dont think i could ever have a problem with alcohol because its very rare i crave a drink...there are expections to everything though. plus i do not like drinking alone...unless it is a glass of wine in the early evening...

We almost purchased some Hardcore once, because it had a nice bottle cap.. (I ended up getting kicked out of the store, they had a NO ONE UNDER 21 IS ALLOWED IN rule, now I am 21 though!) nice to know it's not good. Grannysmith is actually the kind I always get. All of my friends make fun of me though, haha, they say it's just juice! I don't care though, I love it. Another alternative is Hornsbys and it is really good. Here in brewcity we have an extensive line of liquor stores and many many beers! Have you had the pear woodchuck? I think it's only 4% alcohol and it's really sweet, even more like juice than the others!

you guys need to get a hold of some "old rosie" scrumpy from the UK. that is one of the best ciders i've ever had. dont drink it in the hot sun though, its 7.5% and will turn you into a psychotic after a couple of pints. sounds like a lot of us here like a tipple. nothing better than a hot summers day sat in the sun with friends, having a couple of drinks. here in japan, the drinking culture is a little different than what im used to. if your sat around drinking, you are always eating something, either like crisps (chips), dried octopus or squid, or rice with pickled vegetables. its a good way to help you not get drunk too quickly. also, you tend to top up your friends glass for them if you are sharing bottles or cans of beer, or drinking sake (rice wine). they drink beer in small glasses here. even if you are in a conversation with someone else, if someone offers to top up your glass, you stop your conversation to accept the drink. manners and etiquette are very complex here, a lot of the time very confusing.

its only a problem if i dont have any...i have no preference just fuckin hand me something...i'll swallow it fast...
