For those of you NIN fans...
New album out right now on the site. I haven't listened to it yet, but there's a free download of the first 9 tracks, a $5 download of all 36 tracks, and a few other options. It says on the site it's all instrumental too! Hopefully back to The Fragile Era or something new that's not government oriented

Never liked NiN's music, probably never will.
For me personally this new album sounds pretty bleak compared to luminaries in the instrumental and electronica genres. The guitar parts are ok-ish. I guess I'm just not that much into him.
I like what Radiohead and Trent are doing, adapting to the internet age and believing that true fans will buy their works anyway. I can't deny I suspect there's a somewhat sneaky business plan behind that strategy, making the consumer believe that they are the saviours of the music industry which effectively will boost the sales anyway. Just like Google's do-no-harm policy. It isn't necessarily a bad thing. In the end I endorse making music free of cost legally with the option to buy a physical medium.

Bump. Anymore opinions? I'm still undecided, it's great in flashes but there's not enough going on in a lot of these tracks to really justify their release IMO. Maybe it needs a bit more time..
For those of you who are interested:
I've been wanting to try out this kind of thing for a while so might see what I come up with.

Check out the Still EP.Shadowshocker wrote:just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for music similar to this..
not necessarily the heavy stuff, but lately i've been in love with the slow mellow daydreamy acoustic stuff, slow pianos, ambient pieces, fun xylophones, etc.
anyone know of anything i should check out?
