Favorite music-tied-to-memory album/song
Let me preface this by saying I am young (only 17), so my memories tied to music are still very vivid and in the forefront of my life.
With my absolute favorite albums, I tend to tie one experience/feeling to the CD--usually from the first day or week that I listened to it. I believe this has something to do with my memory somehow mixing the feelings given from the CD, permeating my mood and thoughts from that time period.
I know that it might be hard to wittle this down to simply one album, experience, or time period, for that matter--but share one of your favorites!
One of mine:
Listening to BT's "This Binary Universe" the first time I ever snuck out and drove my mom's car around, unlicensed... my first time ever driving alone. Drove to the highest point of elevation in my township, and blasted the CD in the woods while looking out across the light-dotted horizon.
My best friend later told me he did the exact same thing. Except he was having sex with his girlfriend to their favorite CD, haha

Playing Commander Keen Ep 1 in my home-town on a cool summer day. The window slightly open. I had plastic curtains that banged together in the wind making a very unique and nostalgic sound, almost music...Back in the day, I was into Daft Punk,Alan Braxe, Cassius and the likes...I like to think about those times while listening to Daft Punk's Around the World...or Modjo's Lady
IABPOITC reminds me of a rainy day in Hong-Kong, where I made a little hut out of umbrella's on the porch of our house. Man, I wish I remembered more from those day's...but allas, I was 4 or something.
There's this picture of a slide in the water on the beach in my head. Its really vague, but really intens. I remember feeling something powerfull when I saw it. Again, this was from when I was ...4. Redpoints "Middlesex beach" reminds me of that.
And, Bolero by Ravel...this is probably one of the first peices I ever heard in my life. At least its the first one I remember. I remember not beeing able to move my body, but I could move my mind, or at least the things inside it. While listening to the music I could see and manipulate things in my head. Animals...shapes... This is from my times as a baby, and is my earliest memory I have.
There's allooooot more...but I'm not going to bore you any longer

Throw away your smartphone.
When I first got TCH I would always listen to it falling asleep. So I always relate the album to that line between Awake and Sleep.
Hey Saturday Sun reminds me of being in the car driving by around the east coast last summer, sense I was obsessed with the song at that time.
The song 4 by Aphex Twin was my second experience with Synesthesia.
A lot of They Might Be Giants albums remind me of when I was drinking so much coffee I was just wired and insane all the time. I geuss they appeal to people in that state.

EDIT:
Crap - I just realised this thread is "remembering doing things WHILE you listened to a piece of music".
Ok, I deleted what I wrote earlier, and in the spirit of the actual thread topic:
The first week of listening to Geogaddi was mind blowing. It had such a huge effect on me I remember thinking things like, "One day I'll be dead and I'll never hear this amazing music ever again." It really depressed me a lot. I remember my parents watching a game show on TV and someone won a car. Everyone was excited, and I was like, "What does it matter? One day that car will be rusted junk, and he'll be dead and nothing matters blah, blah, blah..."
I felt like that for about a week. Thankfully I've never felt like that again, I'm very happy to be alive and whatever happens will happen, I'm just enjoying this experience right now. Listening to Geogaddi reminds me of that time, and I think it helps me to appreciate life.
A happy ending, yay!

actually i have a boc one for this...twoism itself was in our headphones (me and a cousin when he was 11) while we were walking across a huge lake that had dried up..it was a late spring day warm and the air had that humid scent to it that when you smell it , it rings memories or feelings, at least for me..right..there it is
OK Computer by Radiohead always reminds me of walking home from school in the winter. For some reason I listened to the CD a lot under those circumstances.
Pearl Jam reminds me of the summers during high school.
4 by Aphex Twin reminds me of sunny fall days, where everything smells like leaves.
The Campfire Headphase reminds me of warm spring days. Mellisa Juice reminds me of being high.

Radiohead - Kid A
Bought it on it's release day in Sweden. It reminds me of strolling around Gothenburg with it on my Discman.
BoC - Geogaddi
Memories of summer 2002, psychedelics, mates ... the Leslie Nielsen sample "... capture a dandelion in one piece ..." - myself and a few mates we listening to the album at a mate's house and his mum brings this dandelion sealed in an transparent acrylic resin cube of somesort ... the state I was in a the time meant this was something really amazing
Aphex - SAW1
Blew my mind and still does. Lots of happy memories.
Radioactive Man - Uranium
OMFG! Everytime. Amazing. Sends shivers down my spine.
KLF - Chill Out
Heard this for the first time ever in 1992. We were parked by a river at about 3am and were tripping on acid blotters. A mate put the album on his car stereo. Amazing night!

I was just listening to chinook, and i was reminded of a time a good few years ago (i was probably about 15) when i was really drunk, and angry, and bodypopping my way up the main street of my tiny hometown, on my own, at two in the morning-ish with chinook in my headphones. A car drove past and the people inside found the spectacle understandably entertaining, which made me even angrier and i chased after their car on foot for about 100 metres shouting abuse.
wtf.
wtf.
