Plaid
After hearing their name for years I finally checked them out. How have I gone so long without listening to them?! "Not For Threes" is incredible.
Where should I go from here?

Their soundtrack for the Tekkonkinkreet movie is excellent, worth grabbing even if you never intend to watch it. Also their track 'Eyen' is a beauty!

Quite funny that is.. most of the time Double Figure and Spokes are the albums peeps like the least. Double Figure is also my fav and Spokes is a very good second. I guess I like them more because they are less accessible and therefor have longer playability?hohes_c wrote:double figure is my favourite by them...for some reason I just couldnt get into any of their others.
and eyen is definitely a beautiful track.

Plaid, Balil, Tura, Atypic, The Black Dog are all incarnations. The Black Dog have nothing to do with the two Plaid members anymore. The Black Dog are now on Soma and Dust Science with Rich and Martin who run the label. At one point The Black Dog consisted of Ken Downie, Ed Handley and Andy Turner ... now only Ken remains from the original line up. Ed and Andy are now Plaid.
The 'Trainer' compilation album is good to hear the origins. Their remix of Bjork's 'All Is Full of Love' is really nice.
Been a fan since first hearing 'Bytes' when it was released. The 'Spanners' album by The Black Dog is immense! I still have the 'Restproof Clockwork' promotional sticker sheet untampered with from Warp when the Plaid album came out
