AH Mixset :: Intro Competition
Hello Twoismers,
Aesthetics has been kind enough to volunteer some of his time to put together a mix that highlights some of the artists on Archaic Horizon. Talking to him, we thought it would be good idea to extend an invitation to all twoism members to create an opening intro/outro song that can effectively introduce and theme the mix. We would love to hear an opener that promotes some of the ideas and themes of the AH net label, even better include an expression like "advancing the experimental" or create a slogan of your own that portrays our values. Moreover, you could create variations on the opening track that could be useful for Aesthetics to make sudden changes in the mix. All that said were looking for something that can be used to creatively and effectively theme a best of AH mix.
There's no deadline for submitting an intro, but the sooner we start getting these in the sooner Aesthetics can start putting together a mix.
The finished mix will be hosted by aethetics as well as inq-mag.com's monographic podcast series.

If you're interested in contributing please email archaichorizon@gmail.com and either attach or link the mp3(s) (192kbps) for submission. Use the email subject "AH Intro : Submission".
If you need more details or have questions post them here.
Cheers,
Scott

Well, I'm not looking for anything specific, just something that can successfully represent the artists on the label. This is very open ended, I know, but there's common themes in many of the releases and your suggestions which would be a good start (nostalgia, lo-fi, dark, melancholy, light, happy, upbeat, etc...)747Music wrote:I've got a couple as well. What is the mood you're looking for though? Dark? Light? Melancholy?
edit: I have intermission tracks as well if you're interested.
Variations of similar tracks that represent more than just one of these ideas could be very useful. Like an intro, intermission and outro that are all varied to express these different themes, but are still cohesive in their character.

It would be nice to hear our slogan, "advancing the experimental", or something similar of your own choosing. You could use vocal clips, vocoding, recordings, or whatever else you can think of to express the slogan. Or take it further and make it a narrative with thematic elements...Shadowshocker wrote:Can you explain a little more about the expression/slogan?
Does that help?

Yeh, I think that'd be cool.747Music wrote: After the mix is done, or whenever is agreed, we should all post what we made here. I'd love to hear everyones intro submissions.
I was bored today and made some longer, full-length versions of my vignettes and intros. I'll probably release 'em on archive.org or something if mine don't get used. I'm really interested in what everyone came up with too.
