Really interesting time in Texas/American history. One of my more favorite sort of cult-like situations to read about. I don't know what's so interesting about it, but every time a documentary comes on about it or I happen across an article, I can't help but read it.

David Koresh is one of those figures with whom I can't tell if he was crazy, using this for personal gain or both (à la Jim Jones). Saying (since he was the messiah) he had the sacred semen is either him being batshit insane or taking advantage of all those women who shagged him because of this.
This was on Channel 4 seven years ago, a very interesting documentary about it. The reconstructions are a bit eerie to watch, especially as the actor playing Koresh looks so much like him.

I'd highly recommend this doc. It's by Linda Thompson, the voice from Split Your Infinities. Really interesting stuff, especially the team of four agents' ingress from the roof, and the potential sources of the fire.

In the end, it was much more a gun issue than an issue of "protecting the children." You know what's good for kids? Sleep deprivation, driving around the compound playing the sounds of animals dying, and burning them alive.

I'm late as fuck, but RSD 2013 was on the 20th, not the 19th. It isn't the same date every year, it's like Easter or the Super Bowl.

Random thought: A childhood friend of mine's step-father used to be a branch davidian. He moved to Ontario before the Waco incident happened though. I remember after the Waco incident hit the news thinking I'm sure glad he's here and is ok. Unfortunately, a few years or so later he got hepatitis and passed away. (or maybe it was liver cancer, I don't remember) After that, my friend and his mother moved away. I never saw him again. Sometimes, when I hear about Waco or the branch davidians, even in songs like 1969 and such, I wonder how he's doing, and what he looks like now. stuff like that. For the life of me, I can't remember his last name or I would've looked him up long ago on social media. It was a long time ago, but it's not like I'm an old man or anything. Oh well. I'm sure, like me, he's moved on long ago.
