Thanks for the links, man - I found out that I had a lot of fakes until I downloaded your .zips!

I'd go so far as to say Old Tunes Vol. 1 is their best work, it sounds so haunting and beautiful(albeit a bit unsettling, but I say that in a very positive way). It's a shame that it's so hard to find, and it wasn't given a proper release.

If it appears like Windows doesn't recognize the file, right click it and select open with WinRar, that did the trick for me.

That's kinda weird, or maybe not. I've used the latest winrar to create zip files. Maybe winrar doesn't make 100% windows compliant zip files.

Anyways everyone should use winrar from rarlabs to extract to avoid problems.

And apparently the files have already been downloaded a lot:

Everyone should download them and replace the mislabeled junk on soulseek to make it a better place! :)

But I wonder why AFOT side A has been downloaded 111 times and AFOT side B only 89 times. They belong together dudes! :-)

It's great that ppl have access to the real thing now. Maybe you should make it public in a way? So that even more can cherrish it all.

Also I have a folder where I collected over the years pretty much each and every remix the brothers made including some artists take on BoC material. I don't know if people are interested in such a collection but if some are, I can share it as well.

It includes among others all their MASK stuff as Hell Interface, the xyz track broadcasted on the peel show, remixes of mira calix, µ-ziq, boom bip etc. Also the orchestral remix of pete standing alone that I acquired from this forum! :)
Without music, life would be a mistake.

ANY of the Hell Interface stuff would be greatly appreciated as I've never managed to track it down at all :D

You seem the collecting sort hohes_c. We should compare remixes by other artists and swap the ones we are missing.

I have well over 70 remixes done by other people. All the Hell interface works (which is only a couple tracks lol). And all the remixes done by the bros themselves, including radio edits, radio recordings, and original versions to compare with the remixes. I've got some source material as well. I'm happy to share them with you and anyone else that wants em as well.

This is a list of content I can upload. I do not collect everything related to Boards of Canada. Definitely their own remixes. Very few actual remixes done by other artists.

Code: Select all

. In a beautiful place out in the country (edit)
. korona boards of canada
. xyz (peel session)
. the story of xentrix (hell interface)
. trapped (hell interface)
. soylent night (hell interface)
. midas touch (hell interface)
. bubbas tum - dirty great mable (boards of canada mix)
. michael fakesch - surfaise (the trade winds mix by boards of canada)
. meat beat manifesto - prime audio soup (vegetarian soup by boards of canada)
. boom bip - last walk around mirror lake (boards of canada remix)
. mira calix - sandsings (remixed by boards of canada)
. µ-ziq - poppy seed (reprise by boards of canada)
. µ-ziq - poppy seed (remixed by boards of canada)
. an eagle in your mind (push button objects remix)
. kid for today (stereolab remix)
. dj broken window - leave it turqoise
. beck - broken drum (boards of canada remix)
. clouddead - dead dogs two (boards of canada remix)
. why? - good friday (remix by boards of canada)
. pete standing alone (david horne, orchestral)
Im uploading this now on megaupload since its a 200 mb folder. I would prefer some other, less ad plastered space provider that offers more than 100mb upload volume. If you know about any, pls let me know. Otherwise I hope you will enjoy it.

Ya, I've got all those. I'll make a zip file with all mine, take away the ones you are uploading and a few that are crappy. My list is too long to type out :?

Just a quick notice for those who wish Original Nlogax was longer - I've taken a 43 second sample (making up most of Original Nlogax) and looped it, making MP3s 3, 5, 7 and 10 minutes long.

PM me to get a slice.

i guess it doesn't really matter, but i'd love to have the old tunes collections in the original uncut format, before they were divided up into individual tracks (as in, having each side of the tapes as one long single track). has anybody ever come across that?

No, but with a good sound editing program and a lot of time on your hands, you could easily make it yrself.
