midwest flooding: I've been evacuated

don't know if any of you are watching the news, but massive flooding in the midwest. this morning I was evacuated by a boat across a golf course. our apartment was in danger of flooding. there was no way for transportation to reach us. pretty sad. if anyone can show me how to post pics, I'll put some up later.

Where in the Midwest are you? I am in WI, Milwaukee.. and we had some pretty nasty stuff- this was my front yard and street-

That's me in the big coat on the right.. I had no other wet weather gear!

Some people were taking advantage of the great weather.

That car is probably fucked. And so is mine and it wasn't even parked in front!

Pretty much sucks, I hope you are all right!

That seems rather nasty! Seems like you guys are living in the lowlands now.

Great to see that the evacuation worked well. You both should post some photos when the water is gone again.. it's difficult to imagine the height of the water.

Seems like there's shit everywhere.
In Perth (A capital city of one of the states of Australia, over to the West side of the continent) there was a bad cyclone that tore up a few houses.

There've been storms and fatal tornados all through the midwest the past week or two. I haven't been hit by any of it but everywhere around there's someone who has taken damage. I think the nearest one was the Hugo, MN tornado that killed 6 or 8 people. That was 5 minutes away from where I was having my appointment at the dentist that day :[

my girlfriend and I are both fine. we were a bit west of you towards the watertown area. lake delton is completely bone dry. I didn't think it was possible for an entire lake to drain into a river in 2 hours. lake delton has gotten a lot of publicity, but a lot of the homes there were vacation homes. still sucks that they lost some, but there are many people who are homeless now and there isn't as much about them.

A tornado touched down just a few kilometers away from where I live either yesterday or the day before. Theres been lots of storms here lately. I love thunder storms. Streets were flooded a bit too, not as bad as in the above pics though.
