Haven't heard the original leak, but for all I know, it can't have been much better in quality than the versions available on youtube. The one with the picture of the hut in the snow seems to be the best sound quality. I think the distortion heard is DAT tape distortion from the source tape so I doubt one could improve upon it, maybe by softening the treble a bit.

Thanks, but I'm pretty sure the youtube version is based on the dead link I was talking about.
Since youtube re-encode the audio, the quality is downgraded a little bit.
I'm still digging lol.

True, Youtube compression/ encoding can be pretty detrimental to sound quality actually.
I'll do some digging around too and will PM you if I can find the original.
