that is all i want to say.

i don't feel BoC songs should have vocals over them unless it's by Mike & Marcus themselves.
Totally agree.
I as well agree. If Mike and Marcus were to add her voice to the track I'm sure it would've been much better. I dont like how it just sounds pasted on top. I'm just glad there is an instrumental version

I think there might be some truth to this.

BTW: It's not that the idea of the Solange track is just bad, it's just that it seems very lazy to just add r&b vocals over the track, and especially in such a bad internet mashup sort of way. Like I could have done this five minutes ago in Mixmeister...

So i've finally heard the track, and I have to say I think many of you are out of your minds - not for identifying this as an unimpressive track, but for boiling over about it. BoC fans vindicating their own stereotype :P

It's honestly not that bad. It's lazy, and it's utterly unimpressive, I'll give it that. But the worst I can really say about it is that, like thedisavowed said, it's like an internet mashup.

Not everything that transits through BoC's music in one way or another is going to be fantastic. Fact.

I've only just got round to listening to this. I'm speechless in a bad way. It's laughable.

I just listened to the quick sample of this and yeah... it is badly out of tune!! I mean I know it's in fashion for rappers to go out of time and out of tune but you can tell when they mean to do it.

I have no idea what she meant to do here. And not even in an interesting way.

I can't say I like this. It's one of the best moments on the entire album. It isn't even interesting she just played the song and sang her lyrics whatever they were. Hell, the guy beatboxing Chromakey Dreamcoat was more interesting than this.

I know, like she didn't even attempt to make it her own. No remixing the track? Nothing? Just a bunch of bullshit R&B gibberish about putting on her high heels.

This is a sad time for BoC, in my opinion. If they don't redeem themselves by putting out a new ep or lp, I am done with this section of the forum.

I wonder how much she paid them to let her lay such a turd using their material.

I am at a loss for words really. This was totally the exact opposite of what I thought it would be. I was looking forward to someone cutting up some boc samples and having some vinatge r&b/ soul singing over it that was crackling like on old bluenote vinyl....

I am just trying to imagine if i had never heard slow this bird down, what I would think about this song...IMO i would think it sounded poorly put together... out of touch, off beat, rushed, what ever...

plus what the fuck is up with..."this song isn't over yet" FUCKING STUPID. its like some dumb ass was like "i am too lazy to take this song and chop it up, screw it, mix up all to hell, so i am just going let it run until the end and leave in the outo and have her say 'ima keep rollin"

i have accidently mashed up things on tape that sound better than this. what a fucking beating

like i said i am at loss for words. so until new boc news "ima roll" on over to the playground and post about gi joe figures...

I'd hate to think what might've happened if she HAD cut the song up. :/
