Wowsers..cool stuff! Totally threw me out of left field, good to see BoC going in different directions..I knew they'd be good at this kind of thing.
EDIT - I nearly lol'd at how fast/easy this worked..needless to say, I have the mp3, PM me if you'd like it.

Somehow this has the easy-going of earlier AIR-tracks. Some kind of retro sound.
I only heard it on myspace, but to be honest, I prefer the part without the vocals.
Did you notice, the 2 second sample they used at 4:19 and again at 4:28? I've heard them in another track, I'll go searching now.

I like it.
I don't know the Fire Engines or any of his other work* but I've heard of him and he get's a lot of props especially from the Scottish indie scene. I reckon BOC probably see this as a bit of an honour actually and fits with their general policy of working with independent artists and like-minded folks - especially as he's from Edinburgh.
It reminds me of Aztec Camera and Belle and Sebastian (a bit). It sounds like Scot's indie basically and you can be pretty sure Mike and Marcus have a fair bit of that in their collection.
Who knows why they don't mention this stuff on their website. I guess they just like people to find their stuff naturally and don't much like shouting about things.
I've listened to the MySpace a couple of times and compared with the other track and I think I can detect a bit of BOC sheen in there. Ordered the 7" anyway so we'll see.
* Win's 'We've GoThe Power' was used on an advert for Scottish brewery McEwans which was on TV for many years (and the cinema too, I think) in the UK. It was quite popular being a well made effort thoughtfully done - and the music was good too!
