Home-made chicken noodle soup. Based very roughly on Vietnamese Pho (but using chicken instead of the more normal beef). Took last nights roast chicken, made chicken stock in the slow cooker while we were at work. Add in chicken, spring onion, crushed garlic, root ginger, fresh chilli, fresh coriander, lemon juice (forgot to buy lemongrass - schoolboy error), star anise, etc, etc, etc. Also added in a little dark and a little light soy sauce for colour and body. Couldn't get proper vermicelli noodles at short notice but made do with some bog-standard thin noodles and they were just fine. My God it was tasty!

Mexicola: I'm vegetarian but that made my mouth water all the same.
I have an insanely cheap organic shop near me in my new flat in Glasgow... bought 2 heads of garlic, 3 lemons, 2 massive onions (like twice the size of my fist at least), A good chunk of root ginger, a bag of chilies and 4 avacados today. IT COST ME THREE POUNDS AND FIFTY SEVEN PENCE.
Tonight I ate some home-made houmous and avacado salad with chili, lemon and ginger dressing on toast. It was the bee's knees.

I just ate some pitta bread and houmous. I can't get enough of it.
Can you say roughly where in Glasgow this is? I live in City Centre and would like to visit your mega cheap shop myself.
Cheers
