Any books similar to Alice in Wonderland?

I'm looking for similar books to Alice in Wonderland to read.

I'm also in need of one for a school research paper with an author not from England nor US.

Any recommendations?

I highly recommend The Phantom Tollbooth. It's similar in that he finds himself transported to a strange fantasy land which is a reflection of our own, but less trippy, more logical-oriented, and about a boy. One of my favorites as a kid.

has anyone read 'Automated Alice' by Jeff Noon, thats a good one. This time, Alice falls through the workings of a clock.

Did you read "Sylvie&Bruno"? It is also by Carroll and there is also a combination between dreams and reality.

Been meaning to read this one for a while, it sounds quite interesting. Cobralingus (also by Noon) is proving quite hard to find a copy of though.

Samedi The Deafness by Jesse Ball.

About a guy who's job is to remember massive amounts of information ends up in a mental hospital for chronic Lying. All the while he's trying to figure out a mysterious epidemic that will occur within seven days.

It is sometimes serious, and other times quite silly, much like Alice in Wonderland.

His second Novel The Way Through Doors is also very good.
