It frightens me how BOC twisted that Sesame Street vignette into something as disturbing as the color of the fire. I had heard of it's origins and knew it was from sesame street but that was the first time I'd actually seen it. Whenever I'm by myself listening to MHTRTC late at night I almost always skip that track cause it creeps me out. Their are very few things that can do that to this day.

It's funny, a lot of people have said that The Color Of The Fire disturbs them, but I never got that vibe from it. Don't get me wrong. It's totally killer, but I get a more... nostalgic vibe from it... but not as strong as with some of their other tracks...
Now House of Abin'idab, that song is absolutely frightening!

The YouTube video is no longer there; if I recall correctly it was a similar vignette to the one BoC sampled, but was a different voice without the repeats/scribbles. A friend and I have found the real "I love you" source here.

Wow. I never knew the ending sound was part of the vignette. That was the only part of the song I ever found particularly creepy, but DAMN, it's creepy.Closing_Logo wrote:The YouTube video is no longer there; if I recall correctly it was a similar vignette to the one BoC sampled, but was a different voice without the repeats/scribbles.
