Boy gets really disappointed on Xmas (video)

Looks like something I would do.

My sense of humor can be a bit cruel. And a lot of my Christmases were not that great growing up, just bland. But that's because my parents are noobs @ reading a list and picking out stuff on it to buy. Mom always went off on her own tangent and bought me retarded useless stuff (OMG KEYUTE ORNAMENTS!) In fact she's still a bit um...loopy with gifts. I still get console games (xbox 360 and wii so far) but I own neither system...(but again to be fair she never visits me so wouldn't know anyways). She's trying at least, it's better than two dozen pair of athletic socks which looks horrible when you wear oxfords on a daily basis.

its becoming apparent in this thread which of are parents, and which of you aren't. i don't mean to come across so brash and harsh to those of you who find this funny, but to me this is a form of child abuse. our children are our future, they deserve to be treated with dignity and respect just like any adult. like adults, when children misbehave, they need to be chastised. obviously, for teenages and adults the punishment is different.

parents need to raise their children go grow up as confident and compassionate human beings. by belittling them by playing cruel jokes or making fun of them certainly isn't the way to go about this. yes, children need to learn to deal with disappointment and losing, but these things are learned over time, whether it be by sports, games and general life experience. it's how we raise our children to give them the confidence to deal with situations is the key.

even if the child received the xbox in the end, he was still subjected to be the butt of a cruel joke by the people he trusts and loves more than any others, his parents. i'm sure when he did receive the xbox he was happy, but his heart still hurt a little bit from this. people are a product of their programming, hopefully this child grows up to realize that things like aren't funny and won't do things like this to his own children.

playing pranks on your friends is a different matter entirely. try to educate yourself on things like these and other problems that children go through. i wonder how many of you had ever been subjected to bullying at school, and how many of you were the bullies.

all i am trying to say is that in instances like this, i dont think children are fair game.

Although I did find the video pretty funny, I completely agree. It is indeed a cruel joke. Something like this may seem insignificant to us, as adults, but to a child, it can be very significant indeed, and can very negatively affect his heart.

Now, if this kid was one of those spoiled brats, who already had a ps3, 20 games, complained about attention, and was a trouble maker at school, LET THE HUMILIATION BEGIN!

But obviously from the expression on his face as he had his heart crushed and his brother mocked him, I don't think so...

I can't believe what a fuss most people are making about this. Sure it's mean but it says he was sneaking a look to see what he got before. And he was given it afterwards anyway. It seems like a lot of you guys were spoilt as kids judging by your reactions. If this kid grows up messed up it will be due to far more than being teased a little on christmas day. Put things in perspective for christ sake

i seem to be getting more and more information about the video as this thread goes along, when i first saw the video before the link was posted to here, none of the information about him getting the xbox after and sneaking a look before xmas, was available to me.

having this information puts the video in a better perspective for me. thank you for clearing this up. i still dont apologize for my rant about childrens rights though ^_^.

(guess should've checked saturday index's link before i commented...)
