has anyone actually met tycho?

fuckin sick to death of people having a go at bibio,lone,tycho,ciaran byrne,saturday index etc

had enough of people mouthing off when they are doin nothin themselves

tycho is a top graphic designer

who gives a shit if he's a top graphic designer? That's not what this thread is about. And you don't have to know a musician personally to have an opinion of them.

Not noticed anyone having a go at the other folks mentioned on that list, only Tycho.

Tycho's tunes are nice but far more obviously derivative of BoC than the rest of the list. Bibio, Lone, Ciaran Byrne and Saturday Index all have a fair bit of individuality to their sound. Much more to them than mid-tempo beats and wobbly detuned hissy synths.

Got nothing against the guy. What he does is good but lacking the spark of originality.

Tycho sounds more like Ulrich Schnauss to me.

And Paracat does make music, and I think is one of the best musicians on the board.

although john fonda was a bit harsh, i think he is just sick of people shitting on tycho all the time. people are entitled to their opinions about tycho, i guess. i dont know why everyone shits on tycho though. i enjoy his music quite a bit.

after all, its all about enjoying music, and not critique-ing all the time, isn't it?

had the complete misfortune of reading a thread about lone over there,not one of the fuckers sayin shit is ever gonna make a rekkid as good as lemurian

would be good if new artists were attracted to the forum (nurthice for example)

let us keep the disrespect and prejudice to a minimum

if you do not like the lp that is fair enough but personal attacks are not communal

tycho stated that he bought a sampler after hearing boc,therefore he tipped his hat

he is also always bigging up people like college and bibio

does not deserve that treatment

So what is WATMM? I only hear bad things it seems, and I have no idea what it is... forums i'm guessing? or maybe something like pitchfork? (screw pitchfork by the way).

Saturday Lo-fi, Four Tet and Caribou are pretty awesome - not really clones but enjoyable all the same.

Tycho's music is hardly special to me but I do agree he doesn't deserve a fraction of the personal ire he gets from people who hate the man because they think the music is a ripoff.
