Bibio signs to warp.
from Warp newsletter:
"We're proud to announce that Bibio (aka Stephen Wilkinson), has signed to Warp Records. A purveyor of colourful, summery, grainy music, admired by the likes of fellow Warp artists Clark and Boards of Canada, Bibio will release his Warp debut in late June.
It's a diverse yet inclusive record that sounds like a collaboration of countless musicians yet stems from him alone. You can hear a short blend of a selection of the tracks on the record for the first time anywhere below:

I love Battles and i've loved !!! long before they were signed to warp so eh. Grizzly Bear is also a very original and atmospheric band. Never got into Maximo Park, but these other "gay indie bands" are really good. And you know, i'm pretty sure the front man of grizzly bear is actually gay, so i'm sure you didnt mean that as some sort of ignorant insult, you were just being literal. The Telepathic Kid wrote:I like Maximo Park. ;_;Phasen wrote:i feel like this has happened in the past...only cause it should have a while ago. Yeh I didn't mean that as a joke against homosexuality at all...that was a drunken 3am post ^^.novayshun wrote:i take it by that lame response you don't know shit about record labels?Phasen wrote:i feel like this has happened in the past...only cause it should have a while ago. I like Grizzly Bear cause they are really super musical and all play every instrument known to man it seems like...but I don't like that warp are getting away from IDM (even though it is admittedly dead). I'm bitter about that :/. The idea of hearing a guitar on warp irks me. Too bad I didn't get into electronica till after their heyday had subsided...
I know a little bit about labels though, lol. I co-own one and I am working closely with several, trying to learning more all the time...Just I don't like most of warp's new acts, but bibio- kudossss son.
