It's Bibio, but it might as well be Boards of Canada.

This one too:

I've always wondered that, too.

The 'Dad' kind of looks like Edward Norton with a mustache.

There was, I remember that thread.

I think the general consensus was that they make quality gear for casual wear but if you want something that's real rugged and not just made to sell a brandname/logo there are much better brands to go with. For my part it seems like the north face is used by people mostly just for show. i wear shit from Goodwill, so...I must not be an IDM hipster

yes, turquoise70, you nailed it. i think i did rant on north face in another thread a while ago. to put it shortly, north face was some of the best outdoor gear about 15 years ago, started by a few really prominent climbers at the time. this is before the outdoor industry as we know it even existed. after they popularized fleece (their 'denali' jacket that everyone seems to have), they were bought out by (sold out to) vanity fair. cosmopolitan magazine now runs north face and has for 10 years. if you're looking for good stuff (for the same price or less) than north face, check out arctery'x, mountain hardwear, marmot, and outdoor research. although in certain situations the expensive & quality stuff is worth it's weight in gold (just like herb), i rock shit from goodwill all the time too--pioneers didn't have fancy outerwear. just watch out for the marketing hype. the end.
