Bibio - The Dunes of Ynyslas

Post by Skytree »

This is likely old news, but thought I'd bring this to the attention to those who haven't seen it.

Bibio - The Dunes of Ynyslas

It's a 1 min + video done by Bibio in 2007, accompanied by an as-yet unreleased tune. Very lovely little piece.

Not a Bibio fan.. But that's awesome :).

Nice video and song!
Additionally, I want to know which part of the West Midlands he originates from, given that it may be very nearby to my home.

Agreed, though I wonder how long that'll continue given his rising profile. Idealism might fade to pragmatism at some point...but for now it definitely puts him in a positive light with respect to fans.

naw you're getting mixed up. it was map77 - a pretty easy mistake to make seeing that the names are so similar

Early 30's, I think.

Not sure if you're joking with that first bit, but I'll respond as if you weren't, just in case. Music70 is a pseudolabel created by Boards quite a long time ago (as far as I'm aware, it's just a name*). It appears next to the other label names on most of their releases.

* 70 is the smallest weird number, by mathematical definition.

That would explain a lot, but the burden of proof is yours.

naw, you're thinking of map77 being the label for albums such as 'individualism'. a pretty easy mistake to make seeing that the names are so similar.

naw you're thinking of hills west - he runs the d.i.y. label map77 (music art photography 77), which is a collective of like minded musicians, artists and photographers living in the same region.

not music70 which make short films and create images, paintings and other art. that's done purely for themselves and their friends, and it has no commercial aims at all. most music70 work is like d.i.y., but it's always emotional.

a pretty easy mistake to make seeing that the names are so similar.

You know, now that you mention it, the names are kind of similar.

Pretty sure Bibio has nothing to do with Music70 in any case...so let's drop the matter, eh.

Yeah I had no idea what music70 was until this thread, which I did in fact look up after i asked. I don't usually go out of my way to learn something about bands I listen to, I just kinda absorb small bits as they come to me.

No worries man...hope I didn't offend, but similar comments are hard to correctly interpret occasionally.

Yeah i hear you, its hard to tell what is sarcastic and what is serious with such short posts like most of mine, i'm not offended or anything - i'm pretty sure its impossible to offend me =P
