How should I introduce myself to Bibio?

No, not the man himself. I'm trying to decide which album of his I should listen to first. Any suggestions for best introductory album?

Well my first album was "FI" then i got the lot after that,but so far iam into "Ovals And Emeralds" it just keeps getting better and better!!

vignetting the compost or hand cranked. i personally like hand cranked better, but most ppl seem to say that the new EP (ovals) is best. Can't say cause I haven't heard it.

I dunno, they are all pretty similar. nifty folk guitar/strings on an old reel-to-reel...

I think the sound development would make the most sense if you started from the beginning ("Fi") and worked your way forward.

I tried to get into Bibio by listening to stuff people recommended to me, but the only time I ever really liked his stuff was when I was listening to it when me and my friends were high off our asses, sitting around the dinner table drawing, and I had no idea what the music was that was playing. It was really good in that setting. But just sitting down at my computer or whatever and saying "I'm gonna listen to a Bibio song now!" doesn't do it, I get so bored of it.

really?? even if you like sit and listen and try figure out all the different layers he put into a song?(like Bewley in Grey for example, while listening to it to me it gets better and better and more beautiful with every line, the opposite from boring IMO)

Put it this way i could never get BORED of his music,also Six String Marenghi just gets me every time! such an amazing piece of music it's almost dreamlike hmmmmmmmmm i feel fluffy again.....

sorry it's a little cold out yet and there's more snow forcasted for the near future, so i won't be able to relax under a long-abandoned farm fence and watch the clouds drift by for a while. i guess this means i just can't dig on Bibio. would someone be willing to pay my way down to a warmer climate so i can discover what is so great about Bibio?

Correction: it means you can't dig on Bibio now. Give the Minnesota weather 24 more hours, or at least another week or two.

That said, Ovals and Emeralds is much better for sub-par weather.

Yeah, boohoo, blame it on the climate

Edit: try Ovals, or Vignetting SI. Especially Ovals is very deep, dark and beautiful. It sounds more BoC-ish IMO. The other stuff is so amazing too. Vignetting is bit more variated compared with Fi & Hand Cranked.
I'm a bit jealous at you, that you still have to discover him.
You'll have a lot of fun discovering Bibio, I think!
