I don't get his sence of humor. It seems like he really enjoys to fool around with the BoC fans on his own subforum.Vexille wrote:Seems like it was just JR pulling every bodies chain just cause he can. I didn't think much of it to be honest.
The other day he posted this in the Geogaddi topic:
Ironic of him to say something like that about his own subforum.Joyrex wrote:For once... a nice thread here! A+
Can't wait what he will come up with next year!

Someday, in a galaxy far far away.. there will be a real thread about a real album. And we'll choke it 300 full with posts of speculation, complaints about the artwork, ah that new track on bleep is rubbish, why can't they make it like Geogaddi these days, it took some time but I love it, it's a slow burner, my wife and I got married to it, i'm building a religion based around track 7....
You know..... and I can't wait.

I used to be pretty obsessive over BoC, but I already lost interest a while ago and I don't care. Boards Of Canada is now a part of my past. Depending on my finances I might sell everything I have by them to go on holiday. I might regain interest when there actually is a new album sitting on my desk but for now I have better things to do and listen to.john fonda wrote:losing interest, I mean really

If you're selling IABPOITC vinyl i'm buying! And i totally get what you mean. I'm on a boc-break myself as well.Guido wrote:I used to be pretty obsessive over BoC, but I already lost interest a while ago and I don't care. Boards Of Canada is now a part of my past. Quality lp !
Same here. Love that album. Isn't it all made up entirely of samples ?
Genius.
One Very Important Thought
His humor is very dry. I can relate in a way. But trying to pull an april1 boc joke for the 2nd year in a row is just beating a dead horse.Aesthetics wrote:I don't get his sence of humor. (oh it actually was intended as a joke I just read, blah)
Yea it is all samples. The wiki page on that album lists many of them. I used to be into metal in the 80s and when that came out and I heard a metallica sample(in the number song) in it I thought it was the coolest thing ever.Same here. Love that album. Isn't it all made up entirely of samples ?

To be fair to the guy, he's held his hands up and admitted it. Like I said, sometimes things can be taken too seriously. I don't think any harm was meant. Onwards...Tarsier wrote:what i don't understand is where he got the idea to 1: pull the same crappy april fools joke he did last year and 2: do it a week early to try to give it more believability
that was ridiculous.
